Now smoking Wilke No. 436 in a 2002 Ser Jacopo Delecta Fatta A Mano R1 sandblast Rhodesian with a smooth extension at the shank with a black acrylic stem. Watching the D-Backs - Dodgers game. I bet the #436 was a better hit then the D-backs. But the #436 is a nice medium smoke for the mid day. It is. And it's good for repeat performances. Hope you saw my review at TR.com.

I just received in the mail this morning my new Blakemar Briars Aristocrat smooth bent bulldog. I've loaded some GH&Co. Louisiana Perique Flake into it and fired it up! Not smoking too bad for the first pipe full, in a new pipe. It looks better than the picture. I also have the large Star Wars mug filled with strong coffee!
I've been playing with the kittens so much I feel like a pincushion. Little scratches everywhere, almost.

Just tossed a half tin of Bothy Flake. If anyone can link me to a nice, clear set of photos showing the difference between mold and sugar, I'd be grateful. My ire is raised, so I'll have a cigarette instead of a pipe.

Mold will have a more fluffy and raised appearance where sugar, aka plume, looks more granular and lies flat.
While not the best photo, this one shows what I mean:
