Just curious as to who likes cigars on a regular or semi-regular basis, or once in a blue moon.

Once in a blue moon here. EXPENSIVE hobby, when you smoke as much as I do... ....and the quality cigar I prefer...

I smoke at least one or two a week. They are usually mid-range in price. I like CAOs, Drew Estate, Punch, Genesis, the Project, and many more.

I'm probably more in the "couple a year" group, but I do keep a humidor stocked with about 75 or so. 5 Vegas is my go-to brand, but I'll grab a few random high end sticks when the mood strikes just to have them. It's more of a treat and I like to have them around if a friend comes over that wants a cigar.

I used to smoke a couple a day. Kept a humidor full of cigars. I only have 3-4 a year now. I prefer my pipes and the variety of tobaccos I can enjoy in them.

Enjoy a good cigar whenever time allows and roll my own to keep the cost low and the taste high.

my rules, not the Mrs. No gar in house or in either vehicle. Always have one on my daily (weather permitting)power walks, sometimes while doing various types of yard work.
Mostly no-band bundles in smaller sizes. Do have some gifted Gurkhas 5.5x42, ditto couple bundles of Qurom 5x50 & 6x42. Total sticks around 65.

Used to be once a week. Much less since I started smoking pipes.

None since I took up pipes again. I don't like cheap cigars, so need to drop maybe $7-10 dollars for a single smoke, and that's just too much compared to a tasty bowl. Besides, with a cigar, I'm locked into smoking for an hour or so, and with a pipe I can quit after one small bowl, or have another if I want.
My two favorite cigars of all time you haven't been able to find in years: Buteras and Dunhill Montecruz La Romanas. The regular Montecruz' are too mild, you have to get the darker La Romanas, but they vanished years ago.
So, pipes beat cigars for me, not just for the price and the time smoking - you also get to buy pipes, you need tools, and you have to screw with the tobacco before you can smoke it.

I generally despise them. They mostly stink to high heaven. I smoked a few of the nickel ones back in the 70's for revenge against my co-workers who chain smoked cigs while I was was trapped in the vehicle with them for hours at a time. I eventually realized that they couldn't smell them and I was only making myself sick for nothing. I have bought several boxes of Macanudos for special friends who enjoyed them. But I didn't hang around for the smoking.

After meeting Basil at JR's, I started smoking them daily. I now hang out at the local cigar shop daily., and rarely smoke a pipe.

Smoke 6 to 10 a week. Winter it goes down to maybe 2 a week. Smoking a Tat now but I'm too lazy to mess with a pic. They probably average around $8 a stick.

Many folks have mentioned cost as a prohibiting factor. Let's start a list of good sticks that fall around $3 to $5 a piece. Sancho Panza Double Maduro Arturo Fuente Reserva Gloria Cubana Wavell What's your "go to" for an inexpensive but still tasty stick?

I grow my own and roll my own. One of the better cigars I make is a 50:50 filler of Criollo and Semois. I also grow my own shade wrapper.
Another excellent cigar is one made like they used to sell in the U.S. back in the 1880's. It uses Little Dutch as a filler and Florida Sumatra as a wrapper. Very unique and very tasty. Nothing at all like a Cuban style.

Arturo Fuente curly heads, George Rico, National Cigar, Licenciados were all my go to cigars for inexpensive ones. Used to enjoy the better Arturo Fuentes, Rocky Patels and Perdomos when I wanted something nice. An occasional Macanudo or Punch as well. Smoked a lot of bundles from Thompson over several years before cutting way back. When I smoke one now it is usually a $6-10 cigar. Love the Perdomo Champagne Anniversary and Rocky Patel Sungrowns.

I enjoy 2-3 per week. Primarily Oliva Nubs in the various configurations. I stock up when they go on sale for $3.33 a stick stub.
An hour smoke works for me.

Love them but they are too pricey now for regular smoking.
Last week, I found myself in town and forgot a pipe. So, it was over to the smoke shop for a couple of Romeo y Julieta coronas. Enjoyed that.
Years back I used to buy Paul Garmirian coronas in a nice cedar box. They were a great value.
IMHO, a good Cuban was hard to top but for regular use, Nicaragua produced some fine smokes- strong and sharp. Jamaicans were too mild for my taste. I guess the Dominican Republic produced the most consistent quality cigars.
My dad was a cigar smoker, Roi Tan was his brand. What stinkers those were!

I am very partial to the Padron Anniversario Special Reserves, 1926 & 1964. They are exceptional and every bit as good, if not better, than recent and past crops of Cubans. The handmade square box craftsmanship and flawless draw make them many cuts above the rest. Potent, flavor-packed, spicy, sweet, woodsy, creamy, nutty, and never a disappointment. Yes, pricey, but always a special smoke.
