Not 100% sure as he did not name the recipient, but Ronv69 mentioned he sent off 4 pipes to someone who could use them.

I've decided to do a little giveaway, incl. a Charatan that was previously for sale. Naturally, I'd prefer if only people who are still building up a rotation/collection and do not have plenty of pipes apply (or alternatively, have trouble affording one due to the crisis). The plan is a pipe per person, but depending on interest you might get multiple. All have minor issues, but are decent smokers. From the top there's a Comoy's Everyman, Jirsa Prince, Peterson Apple and Charatan Special. Classic rule applies; first come, first served.

That is the spirit of the Patch that I first joined. Lets hear from the new folks that are starting out.

Thanks for the kind words gents, I think we can all use some kindness these days.
The Peterson already found a new home, soon to be on its way.
Edit: Comoy’s spoken for too. That leaves us the duo of Jirsa and Charatan princes open.

I've been trying out some peach aromatic lately. I'm a bit of a peach nut so I tried some sutliff mello peach . It wasn't too bad. I wasn't sure of the first bowl but when I tried again I actually rather enjoyed it.

Because we have several NEW pipe smokers here. And in the spirit of the holidays. I would like those of you, who are new to the hobby. And that live within the U.S. Sorry to those to the north, south and elsewhere. Send me a PM. Tell me what you may have been wanting to try or a type you have never had. I will go dig around in my cellar and see what I can come up with.

No bites? Ok, they're going elsewhere. Hey Josh, first of all thanks for your gracious offer. Secondly, I suspect people may have thought this was an old thread without looking at the date-time stamp. When I first looked at this thread a few days ago I couldn’t believe how many posts there were. Then it took me a minute to realize Christopher (mrlunting) was trying to bring back on old tradition. Try again sir and you should get a response second time around.

I suggested this type of giving when I first joined...but didn't realize it was already here and was simply buried with inactivity. I'll come up with a freebie and join in very soon.
Are we able to specify anything, such as...looking to gift a briar to a newer patch member who's relatively new to pipe smoking?

Guys, just an observation.
I think the offers that have been made are very generous, however, I hope the frustration being expressed that people are not taking you up on those offers, is done so in jest. Aside from the obvious reasons why some might not be willing to accept this generosity, maybe we have the good fortune that the majority of our membership isn't in need of anything at this time.
For that, we should be just as grateful as we are about those willing to share their good fortune.

I’m personally grateful but I have enough tobacco for now. Personally, I’d rather see the tobacco go to someone more needy then myself. Having said that, a deep THANK YOU to all those who’ve made such a generous offer.
