This is, IMO, one of the best (darker) VaPers available. This is a very very highly recommended smoke. BUY 3 pounds of it now (it's currently (as of 12/20/17) 10% off, that does not happen too often). Any comparison to Dunhill Dark Flake? Smoking some now in an MM Legend with coffee on the side. Hmmm, I would say not much comparison. Dunhill Dark Flake is definitely sweeter and is lighter (and has less Perique) in flavor (but not light) compared to No. 8 Slice. I like both Dark Flake and No. 8 Slice, but I would take No. 8 Slice out of the two.

Had my Boston Blackie Cavendish in a Rossi Vittoria Bent Pot.
My first experience with a ghost. I guess I had smoked Distinguished Gentleman in this last go around. I got a hint of Lat before I loaded the pipe, even though it had been cleaned well. I lit up anyway and was pleased with the mix.

Hi Wolfman , I get the impression you've been smoking this a lot recently; is it any good? Any comparable blends? I love it. It's a listed as a VaPer, but it's technically a VaPerBurley. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm told it's similar to Watch City no. 558. Yes, it is definitely more similar to Watch City 558 than No. 8 Slice is similar to Dunhill Dark Flake for certain. Of the three, I prefer No. 8 Slice. That is not to say that I do not recommend Dark Flake or Watch City 558. But No. 8 Slice is best (IMO).

Frog Morton and another cup of tea. I bought some Lapsang tea because it sounded like the Latakia of teas- Turns out it is the 'undrinkable, burned-plastic, trash bag of teas' So... you're point is....? Not the latakia of teas? It could still be... depending on how one regards the virtues of latakia. Anyhoo, Sutliff Blue Danube reaches its place in the rotation launching pad, in the Savinelli Trevi 320 ks author shape. Countdown begins.

Christmas Cheer 2016 in the MM Diplomat Apple with another glass of tea.
I only had a couple bowls left, so I took it out of the jar & put it in a baggie. I forgot about it & it got rather dry , but it's smoking okay.

Backed the new Peterson out of the garage. Gonna go for a cruise in Black House Country. I'm very pleased with myself currently as I've jarred most of my open tobacco and I only have a couple tins/pouches that need immediate nursing. The excitement is building. I get to open a tin and experience a new blend free of the guilt of wasting baccy! Next tin will be either Vipratti or Eastern Star. Maybe something from the SPC line. I have only had Plum Pudding thus far and have a few tins of each of the other blends. It's a broad horizon for this pipe smoker, friends. Many new and strange continents waiting to be explored.

Last of my tin of 2005 Christmas Cheer. Amount seemed to need a larger bowl so I put it in an MM General, drinking ice tea with lemon and studying stock market reports this evening with ESPN radio in the background.

Lol. More Lane Ltd. HGL, in the Brakner Antique billiard, with the microrustication finish for which this brand is renowned. Well, maybe renowned is too strong a word. Fairly well-acquainted, maybe.
