For beer, Mc Chouffe Belgian brown ale, unfiltered but refermented in the barrels and bottles. RateBeer says its fruity bouquet conceals a hint of bitterness. Should have a cork and not a cap though. Scotch would be 12-yr Dalmore (not the Cigar Malt). Bourbon is Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit. Rated 98 points by one of the rating magazines, and I agree. The most fancy of the three fancy Wild Turkeys (Russell's Reserve, Rare Breed, then Kentucky Spirit). Rare Breed was rated 95 points by the same guys, and I agree with that also. Food is Indian food. Car would be Miata. I haven't tried either whisky but I agree with RateBeer that McChouffe is very fruity. I didn't realize that Wild Turkey had luxury blends; I had it pegged as a more of a down market brand.

Boring and predictable, but best stout = Guinness. I try 'em all, but always go back to it. I used to really like drinking Guinness but lately I feel it's too heavy. A friend of mine used to serve Guinness ice cream floats back in college which were quite popular at the time.

Heinz Ketchup, all else fails in comparison, Here ketchup is usually sweeter than what you find in the US so the most popular US brand is Hunts. I remember one of my aunts buying a bottle of green Heinz ketchup years ago. The color put me off Heinz for a while.

When I was five I thought Heinz tasted and smelled too much like McClelland Tobacco Bottles used to say Catsup. Now that is called the Canadian Spelling. Hunts was our favorite. I still use it. There was a brand, I think went national, called Brook's Tangy. Used to be made across the river in Illinois. Drive b by the town and you would see a thirty foot Brooks Tangy bottle. Still around, but made elsewhere. Not quite the same. Over the years I have started putting McClelland Tobacco on my burgers

Easily obtainable, best in its class: soda/pop-- Coke candy bar-- Butterfinger I really like how Butterfinger tastes but it loses points for getting stuck in my molars. Does this happen to you too? I know I'm on the wrong side of this issue but I've been a loyal Pepsi drinker since I took the Pepsi Challenge when I was 8. The fact that they gave out superhero trading cards when I was 11 kind of sealed it. What is it about Coca-Cola that makes it so popular worldwide?

I didn't either. I was going through the liquor store buying anything someone rated 92 points or higher and saw a Wild Turkey?? Rare Breed bottle rated 95 points, so I got it. Then, I saw Kentucky Spirit was 98 points, so I got that too. Rare Breed is very good, but Kentucky Spirit is sublime. Hand lettered of course, and 101% ABV. You'd better drink it neat. Russell's Reserve is about $40, Rare Breed about $50, and Kentucky Spirit about $60, and is my favorite spirit of all. They actually make one fancier than that, but I haven't had it and as you can see, it starts to get kinda pricy

I used to have a lot of liquor "Best Ofs". Old Weller 107 was one of the better ones. Mostly have liked Heaven Hill Bourbon. Vodka, Suntory. The rest are just alcohol Gin, though Bombay may be more exotic, for all around drunken purposes it's Beefeater. Best Martinis, Gibsons, Bloody Marys.

+1 on Guinness Stout. Kettle One vodka - Shaken, not stirred. Works great for cleaning pipes too. Yunnan Golden Buds organic black tea. Whole Foods 365 White Albacore Tuna, no salt added. Trader Joe’s Organic Ketchup. Tabasco Sauce @
One year there was a horse named Tobasco Cat entered in the Kentucky Derby. He would lose that day but go on to win the Preakness and Belmont. Horses’ names are normally screened for trademark infractions at the time of registration but this one slipped through the cracks as a generic reference which it is not. Rather than hyperventilate and lawyering up, the good people at Tabasco@ were good natured about the entire affair, made their point, took the free advertising and rooted on the horse like it was their own.
We can only imagine the outcome had the poor critter been named Coke Cat.

I don't drink them by themselves so it makes little sense that they be particularly better than the rest of the ingredients in whatever cocktail I'm making. In that sense It really comes down to bang for your buck which is why I really like Oso Negro vodka. I'm not saying there aren't better vodkas in the world, but I doubt there's one with as much quality at the price anywhere. In terms of gin I feel somewhat similarly about Beefeater although Gibsons and Gordon's/Tanqueray are just as good if slightly different flavoured. I'm usually drinking vodka tonics and gin & ginger with those two.

Pastrami Sandwich from Carnegi Deli, NYC I agree. It's up there with the smoked meat from Schwartz' in Montreal for my favorite sandwich. On "The Hill" in Saint Louis, home of Yogi Berra and Joe Garagiola, there's a place called Gioia's Deli that serves a Hot Salami Sandwich. The only one of its kind. It's kept in a water bath until slicing, very soft, almost a head cheese feel, though not as gelatinous. The store went back to 1919 or so, and though they claim it's still family owned, I am quite positive that is wrong. I recently saw an image of the family in a book on "The Hill" and was surprised to see "Old Man" Gioia as a kid. We delivered meat to him for many years. Nice guy.

Pulled pork bbq and ribs: Southern Soul BBQ. St Simons Island GA That looks really good. What's their sauce like? They have a variety of sauces, their sweet tomato based sauce is my favorite, but they have a Carolina style vinegar, a South Carolina style mustard based sauce, and a tomato based sauce that is hotter. All are good. Their ribs are sweeter than many bbq places, they baste it with honey as it is smoking.

I think that the best Scottish Ale that I have tasted is 4 Peaks Kilt Lifter. As for other foods, and beverages, generally speaking Costco has an unbeatable track record on quality and value on a whole host of products. The shelf life of fresh produce far exceeds other grocers. Funny name for a beer. I've started doubting Costco lately, their attempt at making a tamale was just terrible. I mean a sweet green sauce and then shredded yellow cheese!?!?!?! When I think of a Kilt Lifter, Charleze Theron comes immediately to mind.

The best corn squeezins I've had is Mello Corn. It's a 100 proof and only $10 a fifth. But unlike a lot of the so called moonshines on the market, it has a slightly sweet flavor. Sometimes I'd rather drink it than good Bourbon. No accountin for some folks taste you might say....
I have had that and agree. It is pretty good.

Popcorn made with cocoanut oil. Back in the 1980’s some holier than thou folk with a fax machine spread the word that cocoanut oil consumption was going to be the end of the world as we know it. Theaters shamefacedly ran from the oils to save us from ourselves, and supply us with the chemical-tasting-by-comparison popcorn that they now dispense. A few years ago, some of us smelled a rat and went back to cocoanut oil... the popcorn far surpasses anything available at a theater, and paired with real butter, the stuff is still as fresh days later and much more flavorful.... I won’t even order theater popcorn now, nor will my kids... tastes like crap by comparison. The last few years have seen a resurgence in the discovery of cocoanut oil, but true to form, those with an agenda, fund studies to tell us that we are facing death by ignoring them. observer.com/2017/06/new-study-coconut-oil-ldl-cholesterol-levels/6 Tbsp cocoanut oil 1 cup popcorn 1 stick butter In a stock pot under med-high heat throw a few kernels of corn, and when the bubble around the edges throw the rest in. Keep the lid cracked for steam to escape, and shake on the burner occasionally until popping slows to every few seconds a single pop. Layer with butter, salt to taste. Kettle corn is phenomenally better also with cocoanut oil if you have a sweet tooth.

Hunts has always been a most popular here in Texas, but since Whataburger released their catsup in grocery stores, it is coming on strong. After the bottle in the fridge is gone, I will probably go back to Hunts.

Never tried corn whisky but Punch Magazine says it's the secret ingredient in a lot of trendy drinks served in trendy bars: punchdrink.com/articles/newest-bartender-obsession-mellow-corn-whiskey/That's what I've heard, that corn liquor or moonshine can substituted for vodka in many cases. Also heard it is being used more by many bars. But the person who told me that was a tour guide from a distillery in Kentucky, (FWIW).

Geez, what a cheesy slogan. Hehe. Langer’s Deli has quite a reputation in the LA market also going back to the 1940’s.... I used to pick up at their supplier, RC Provision in Burbank... the pastrami is incredible.... we never got the best shipped to N. Ca., the very best went to Langers. laist.com/2017/05/31/langers_rc_provisions.php#photo-1
