As it happens I am in the market for a new mayonnaise. haha A friend and I were recently talking about growing tired of Hellmann's and wanting to know where that thick yellowish stuff one finds on a tavern burger comes from. I know for a fact that every bar and greasy spoon isn't making their own mayo fresh.
I'll give McCormick a shot.

When I used to drive a meat truck to LA, part of my backhaul was picking up mayonnaise that came in cartons and 5 gallon pails. There were a lot of different ones but the most yellow ones were either called “all yolk” or “full yolk” if I remember correctly.

I think that the best Scottish Ale that I have tasted is 4 Peaks Kilt Lifter.
As for other foods, and beverages, generally speaking Costco has an unbeatable track record on quality and value on a whole host of products. The shelf life of fresh produce far exceeds other grocers.

Used to be gallon jars of Paramount Mayo that a store on "The Hill" Italian Area used to put on his sandwiches. Proper chill, very cold, perfection. No longer made. My home choice is Miracle Whip in place of all things Mayo. I am not as fond of the oily factor of Mayo.
Beer: Spaten Franziskanner (sp?) Hefe Weisse. It's like having a beer malt.

Talisker 10. I like all kinds of single malts, from the peaty to the light and fruity, but Talisker 10 hits all the right notes for me.

Different, but equal imo Japanese Vodka is made with sweet potato and is like biting into a York Peppermint Patty

You mayonnaise guys be careful. The OP is in Mexico DF. The mayonnaise I had there was Jalapeno mayonnaise, and it was the hottest thing I have ever tasted in my life. As for as the best thing, I would have to say it was a filet from Del Frisco. Gyros from Nikko Nikko on Montrose in Houston is close. My late sister's State Fair of Texas blue ribbon winning Crimson cake, and the home bread she made every day. Irish stew at Blarney Castle. Laphroaig 10 and Jameson Gold. Enchiladas from Casa Juan in Richmond Tx. (long gone) Barbecue from any of the places in Taylor Texas. Radice pipes. Wilke tobacco.

Scottish Ale: Belhaven Single Malts: Glenfiddich 12 or Lagavulin 16. Depends on whether I'm drinking to get drunk or just want something to taste.

I mean a sweet green sauce and then shredded yellow cheese!?!?!?!

It seems most of the posters are whisky drinkers but if you ever feel like trying 'agua ardiente' (sugar cane liquor) I'd seriously suggest Venecia. It costs a little more but it's totally worth it.

The best corn squeezins I've had is Mello Corn. It's a 100 proof and only $10 a fifth. But unlike a lot of the so called moonshines on the market, it has a slightly sweet flavor. Sometimes I'd rather drink it than good Bourbon. No accountin for some folks taste you might say....

Never tried corn whisky but Punch Magazine says it's the secret ingredient in a lot of trendy drinks served in trendy bars: punchdrink.com/articles/newest-bartender-obsession-mellow-corn-whiskey/

I think as pipe smokers we are a discerning lot and as forum users we like to tell others about our discoveries. I'm wondering if anyone else here has tried any one common, easily obtainable, food or drink that you feel with some certainty is the best in its class? For example, I strongly feel that after extensive testing McCormick red lid mayonaisse is the best in the world and that every other mayonaisse is a bit of a let down. Similarly I believe that the Ritz cracker is as close to perfection (it's sweet and it's savory without being too salty, it's just strong enough to be a cracker but pairs well when used as a cookie, it's baked but it's toasted) as mankind is likely to get in any field (just wish it had some positive nutritional value). I agree with your assessment of McCormick's mayo. Have a jar in the refer. Hain's Olive Oil mayo was my previous favorite. While on the subject of condiments and must haves, a nod to Trader Joe's Dijon Mustard. Imported from Fraaaance, where they claim to know something of prepared mustards, it is great on its own or in salad dressings and sauces. Sadly, one must visit the store to procure; i.e. there is no on-line delivery.

I particularly like to use them when roasting a chicken. I'm glad to hear you second my opinion of McCormick mayo, now we just need to wait for the others to join us. Hehe.

For beer, Mc Chouffe Belgian brown ale, unfiltered but refermented in the barrels and bottles. RateBeer says its fruity bouquet conceals a hint of bitterness. Should have a cork and not a cap though. Scotch would be 12-yr Dalmore (not the Cigar Malt). Bourbon is Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit. Rated 98 points by one of the rating magazines, and I agree. The most fancy of the three fancy Wild Turkeys (Russell's Reserve, Rare Breed, then Kentucky Spirit). Rare Breed was rated 95 points by the same guys, and I agree with that also. Food is Indian food. Car would be Miata.

Boring and predictable, but best stout = Guinness. I try 'em all, but always go back to it.
