@chico yeah, especially after McCartney got 'Let it be...Naked' released. It bugs me a bit that they went out of their way to hire Spector and then act surprised that he dolled up the production. What did they expect? I wonder if they were just struck by punk proving that being raw could be so powerful? I didn't think "Let it Be... Naked" sounded *all* that much different from the original. "All Things Must Pass" might be my favorite release of all time. I clearly recall my excitement at bringing it home when it was released. Yeah, it feels like either a McCartney cash grab or his effort to prove that he was a bigger part of the Beatles' story than anything else.

I am a fan of the Sound Wall for certain songs, but in the case of GH - Awaiting on You All (and others) it actually hides the instruments into a giant bzzzzzz sound. Like OJ doing time for a lesser crime, Spector is doing time for a lesser one, too. He should have been jailed in the Seventies. I wonder how much they could strip that sound down or if the tracks are permanently blended. The Beatles and Beach Boys worked with some of the earliest 4-track and 8-track technology as they were obsessed with overdubs. Surely everything individual channel recordings exist and if not they must have reels upon reels of original recordings to choose from. That's hopeful, but about as much as getting George's widow to allow release of Carnival of Light. Doesn't sound like it would really be great, so I'll just go back to listening to The Archies in reverse, looking for clues of Jim of INKS fame whereabouts

Going to start posting what I am watching in this thread, as there is none for it. I moved on from music to the TV Show Riverdale. It's actually in the top ten binge watched shows. Totally the spawn of Twin Peaks does Archie Riverdale!? You mean that gritty Archie re-boot we were all waiting for? I was reading a think-piece the other day about how Jughead's asexuality is not being taken seriously enough by the show...burn and and why is everything on that show hued orange or blue. It's because it's silly I tell you! Sorry, I'm still an upset Archie comics buyer. P.S. The Archies were a one-hit wonder. P.P.S. Monkees were great fun

If you were to listen to their first four albums you would go away liking half of the songs, which is more than many groups could claim. One hit on Side A then the Sahara after that. Was discussing a Uriah Heep with a friend once. We worked together and were sharing stories. I mentioned the Sweet Freedom LP, how the one side was the best stoner music around and then side B was total crap. He actually finished the sentence for me. The Archies? Quite a bit better ratio. Anyone remembering Tracy, by the Cuff Links, that was the same artist who sang for the Archies. As to the show, I wish they would deal more with Jug's eating, but he is the best on the show. Veronica and Betty would have been better cast by the actresses who plaid Lana Lang and Chloe in Smallville, though I guess they are too old now.

I find him really nauseating in the film of Let it Be, mooning at the camera all the time, while being a control freak a-hole to George, especially. It seems like being one of the most famous people in the world and a key member of the most wildly successful and critically acclaimed bands has never been enough for him.

This is why you should get a pre-nuptial agreement. It was that divorce from Heather Mills that brought 'Let it Be...Naked' on the world. Hehe.

Ry Cooder, "Bop till You Drop" That is a great, great album. Of course having said that, I have to say that I like Borderline even more. Man, I'm going to have to break out the vinyl and have a listen. I loves me some Ry Cooder.

Pistons vs Celtics on the radio. It amazes me that every ad is either for a car or for food. I feel that the drive-through industry must be doing very well.

At the moment I am listening to both Wanda Landowska & also her prized pupil, Raphel Puyana, play different variations of harpsichord music from several different musical periods. I have a degree in music and at one time I could play the harpsichord but not very well. My organ ability was limited for sure. At the time I was a vocalist but listened to alot of harpsichord and organ music. My favorite organ masters were Virgil Fox, E. Power Biggs and Karl Richter. Fox and Richter are no longer with us and I don't know about Biggs.
