Just finished up our turkey dinner (feast). We hosted this year, and I did the whole dinner. We had stuffed turkey, mashed, stuffing (obviously), roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon, good ol' jellied cranberry, mac and cheese (brother in law is from Baltimore, and I wanted to give him part of his traditional meal), and a ton of gravy. I forgo the traditional plate, and head straight for a hot turkey and stuffing "sandwich", smothered in a least several quarts of gravy. Mashed and Brussels on the side. Next up is 4 pies (I don't know what the rest of 'em are gonna eat for dessert..). Hope everyone else is having a great day!

I had a good Thursday but nothing like what the rest of you are having.

Wonderful dinner surrounded by wife and pup...all pretty well stuffed and ready for a nap. But, first a bowl of something good...actually it is all good, having a time deciding what it shall be.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was on track to be a good one until dinner time. I was outside puffing away waiting on the dinner yell. Well, that didnt happen. I walked in and everyone was already sitting down eating. My dad looked up from his plate and said "I guess you're gunna have to say your own grace." Kind of ruined the rest of the evening for me. I ate a plate of food and took off, doing nothing but riding for a few hours. (Stuff like this is why I dont like my step "family".) My 2 oldest sons stayed with their mom, no issue there, I just miss time with them. They dont come here often because of the step "family". My youngest son (baby) did make it over today though he was over tired and fighting sleep. Hed almost fall asleep and then wake up and cry again. We put him in the car seat and were gunna take him around the block because that always works. On the way out my step mom said "that baby sounds like he needs to be rescued from yall." ... STRIKE 3 Just not the Thanksgiving I was hoping for. But, in all honesty, it could have been a lot worse and I've had a lot worse. I have plenty to be thankful for.

I can't understand the pettiness of some folks. You're right, things could always be worse, but they shouldn't have to be bad in the first place. I'm thankful for you today, and you're welcome at my table any time - crying baby, warts, and all.

Family can be a disappointment some times. You would have been very welcome at our house. Were you going to fry a turkey? How did that come out? We tried Cornish hens this year. I’m not a fan.

Josh, sorry you had a lousy Thanksgiving. If I knew you’d make the trip here I would have definitely cooked and made sure I called you when dinner was ready. Your step “ on “ mom sounds like trouble! Hopefully by next year you’ll be able to be on your own again and have a more peaceful life. ALL THE BEST TO YOU YOUNG MAN👍👍👍👍👍

I've had days like that with my former inlaws. Pretty damn crappy! But you dealt with it with dignity, and set an example well above what they can do!

I missed out on Thanksgiving day festivities due to post-operative pain (hernia). Was sitting at my computer yesterday evening when I got a call from a neighbor. She offered me a plate of her Thanksgiving food! I walked over there and loaded up a big plate of turkey, dressing, various casseroles, and some pumpkin pie. Told her that I was thankful for neighbors like her. She made my day!

Don't remind me of the appendectomy I had years ago, LOL! Hope you recover soon.

On the day that I moved in, a bear visited my back yard twice in one day and her husband (now deceased) came over and said that he didn't like what I had brought to the neighborhood (he was kidding about the bear)! Very pleased to have them as neighbors; we take turns watching the other's house when we go out of town and share the goings-on on our street.

The houses on my road have been empty for years. Recently, a guy from town bought the house next to me. A real nice historic place built in 1911. He is devoting much time to restoring it. He plans to move in someday.

Was it a simple laparoscopic procedure with mesh or more complicated? Was it a femoral hernia? A friend of mine a few years ago was treated for that type of hernia, the surgeon treated him for a single hernia that ended up being a double femoral hernia. Feel better real soon!!!

Good Morning everyone hows the day going ? Any plans for the weekend ? Not much here. Maybe some pipe making. Tonight is the seemingly bi-monthly meeting of the "Mid-Shore Delmarva Pipe Meeting" with McWiggins and another friend we're trying to get hooked, although I don't think that's going to happen. Regardless, the more the merrier.

Distance might be an issue though, but the offer is there. And haebar, your story brings some hope to the world. There are some good people out there. pepesdad1, if we're all family here, you'd be the grandpa? 😉 Just kidding... I meant great grandpa.

December's tobacco for me will either be Savinelli Aroma or SG Celtic Talisman... I'm torn between the two. No real bother though, I'll get the other one in January's blend. Neither of these have been mentioned much, if at all, except for a passing comment by Screaming Jazz last week. Doesn't seem to be smoked much. LSUTigersFan is an aro lover - have you tried either of these, Patrick?
