After a nice dinner, some red wine, dunhill 965 and my pipe A shame the delivery services here don't allow beer or harder to be delivered. I miss a good, even not so good, Burgundy. Heck, MD 20/20 would be welcome here Here the beer companies will happily deliver to your house and even lend you chairs, tables, ice boxes, etc.

my sister taught me to play Mexican Train, I thought it was fun. I bought one for myself but so far haven't had to opportunity to teach hubby....
i prefer to play card games, especially Phase 10 or Texas Hold'em. I would like to learn Whist, but no one around here plays it. Another good one is Hand and Foot, which is a variation of Canasta.
The women in my family all play Canasta and take it much too seriously for me to even try and learn how to play it. Mexican train is a lot of fun, if there are more than 5 of us playing and its just for fun we'll play that a lot. Oddly enough in Mexico we call it Cuban dominoes! I've never heard of Phase 10, how is it played? Whenever we play with a French deck it's usually Continental or King's Corners but usually people here play with a Spanish deck. Phase 10 is a game in and of itself with its own deck of cards (like uno). It's like gin rummy.

Smoking some C&D Sansepolcro in the Vauen Mastro de Paja 105 pipe with a pint of Worthy IPA along side and listening to Art Bell's Dreamland Radio with an episode about the JFK shooting. This should peak david's interests (and possibly a number of other's).

I've been wanting to get a tin or two of this ... any chance you have a couple for trade or sale?

i didn't know there were different decks. what is the difference between french and spanish decks?
Phase 10 is a card game usually played with a specially designed deck, but you could adapt it to use a normal deck. There are 10 phases to the game, each with a different goal -- such as, in phase 1 you have to have 2 sets of 3 to lay down, then you can work on going out and trying to leave the other players with a hand full of points. If you don't make your phase you are stuck on it until you can meet it. So usually during the game people can be on 2 or 3 different phases. They have to be completed in order, and the first one to complete phase 10 and go out wins.

A much better description than mine! Anyone wondering what phase10 is, ignore mine and read that.

When the Bud distributor delivers beer to the ALP this place gets like 20 cases of beer for their coolers. Gives it out to customers in their storefront... and nice truck drivers (moi). I don't know how I made it home some days.

Listening to my Archies and Monkees LP's backwards, sniffing some McC blends and the Mandela Effect came to mind. Was I sniffing Ketchup or Catsup. I thought I had lost my head when I read that Catsup was what the Canadians called Ketchup. I grew up with about every type in the store being labeled Catsup. Or did I? So, while listening to Daydream Believer backwards I hear "Brooks Tangy". This could be the key to existence, assuming some dirty bastard didn't destroy my memory. A quick search of Brooks Tangy brought me to some info on Collinsville, IL. I don't recall ever being there when I was sober or not stoned, but I swear there was a big bottle of Brooks in the town. A BIG bottle. Unless I have been so into backwards music that my basic geography is wrong, Collinsville, IL is not in Canada. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you AMERICAN CATSUP!!! Best around at the time, too

Happiness is finding out the person who got me suspended on Twitter has herself been suspended for egging me on. Joy is coming out of the bathroom with your wife about to go in, and when she asks you what you did you said, Aw, hun. Just peed. It's okay. Things better off not said: When watching a submarine movie like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and your wife remarks about there being a woman on board, do not say anything to the effect of "bottom of the world and you still won't leave us... HEY, OUCH!!

Tonight's date went very well and I had a great time but the lady informs me that she will be leaving the country for an extended period and wishes to no longer pursue a relationship. Another girl another date tomorrow.
I also went to see Mexicans vs Martians: The Movie. It was a lot better than it needed to be.

We have Catsup, referring to a sweeter product, and ketchup, referring to a more vinegary product. Almost all catsup is made by Mexican brands and almost all ketchup is imported US stuff.

Some of us spell it ketchup and the others catsup, over here. Ketchup for me. We were told to spell it right as kids, though we pronounced it ketchup. I am amazed words like catsup and theatre don't make it past the spell checkers. This is definitely a three pipe problem

DING! DING! DING! We have an answer: Heinz was actually spelled Ketchup when we were kids, but we only used Hunt's or Brooks. This is a pretty good article, short read, and even shows an ingredient difference between the two: www.diffen.com/difference/Catsup_vs_Ketchup

We've had about ten weather changes today, so my morning smoke might have been my last for the day.
Xuan is making pizza from scratch, with ham, onion, and Moozadell (Tony Soprano pronunciation) and Provel, which is a Saint Louis creation. Andrew Zimmern came here and had some pizza and made a big deal of it not being all Mozz, Provelone, but Provel is a mixture of Prov, Swiss, Cheddar, and more. You could tell he loved the pizza, but only gave it half hearty kudos. Saint Louis has been in a Provel War with the rest of the country for years.
Note for those that did not read the Catsup article, it originally started in the Far East as Fish Sauce. I do not believe in evolution to the point that Fish Sauce could have evolved into Catsup or Ketchup. Those that have had the stinky fish sauce know from whence I speak

Finally home with a good smoke and a cognac to drill thru the awful chow I just had. SWMBO and I went out for Easter dinner to a restaurant under new management, which used to be good. Well, this chow was so bad that if it was served in the state prison, they'd have rioted. It had one upside, however. The SWMBO said, "that s it, we're not going out to dinner anymore." . Ye-hah !

I made a shrimp stock and added fish sauce to add some depth, it ended up smelling like gym socks and tasting like heaven. I can see the link vaguely, but its a serious reach.

Excellent melted on sandwiches or mixed with Mozz on a pizza. Some places use only Provel. Mistake. It's weird texture may be from places freezing it. Places buy it by so much that it would go green by the time they got to it Edit - Most of my Chinese American friends do not eat cheese. I was told by one it is hard to digest. Xuan is 1/4 Chinese, mostly Viet. She eats the stinkiest cheese I can buy. Then asks for Milk of Magnesia a day later

Okay, Chroniclers, I am posing a Monkees song that came out on their Missing Links LPs. This song, sung by Mickey Dolenz, has almost, and I mean almost but not quite, Latin type beat and could almost be a James Bond Title Song. Tell me what you think

I had my bladder and kidneys scoped today, not the best way to start out a week, the hemaruria had clear up in about 2 or 3 days. I also woke up to r inches of heavy wet snow.. this is really old now.. I think I may pass on a smoke today and.sit in my chair with the the Dedo hounds splattered about my lap, chest neck head as usual.. but I may find the electric throw to use just to make my blahs go a bit faster.
