So on my very last run I fell on my front, but on my arm. I'm pretty sure I've broken a rib or two.
Why do these things happen on the last run?

Why do these things happen on the last run?
Because you are fatigued at the end of the day and much more prone to accidents … been there many, many times!
Hope you heal up quick. Does it hurt to breathe?

I'm not going to get it seen to until I get home... Oh the pain though. Wowser! You would have to be an idiot to fly with possibly broken ribs. What will your family do without you. See a frigging doctore immediately, fool. And I say this with heartfelt sincerity.

Fortunately, I'm traveling with a physiotherapist who says I'll be grand. Hospitals in NI don't do anything for broken ribs so there's no benefit of going. They'll xray my chest, say, 'yes, you've fractured a few ribs (or just bruised them)' and send me on my way.

Paddy, I’m not pressing the “ like “ tab.....just can’t do it. I don’t like that you might have broken ribs. Are you in pain when taking a deep breath? Feel better and just relax the rest of the day, tomorrow you’ll be home with your family. Have a safe trip back to Ireland.

Any damage to your lungs that might not be obvious on the ground could open up at altitude. Just saying.

Good luck Paddy. I sympathize. I've wrecked myself skiing over the years more times than I did motor racing hitting walls.

Our IG, Sophie, has had her last vet visit this morning. She was born during Katrina. Very somber around the house today.

I've skied all my life, up at Lake Tahoe, and had some nasty injuries. You usually don't feel an injury much the first and maybe even the second day at those temperatures just out of shock and cold. Could be much more serious than you think. Please get it looked at.

Ron, it’s heart breaking, my condolences to you and your wife during these sad times. Remember, animals don’t have to suffer like humans......so who is really better off!?!?!? There are many days I’d much rather visit a Vet than one of my doctors.

There are many days I’d much rather visit a Vet than one of my doctors. She has something going on in her lungs, her joints are stiff and I suspect painful. She's also deaf and almost blind. Only one tooth left and her tongue hangs out all the time. She is on pain relievers and a couple of other meds. She's at max age for an IG. My son has had her since he was sixteen. The loss of his first IG threw him into a day hospital for 2 weeks. He is more prepared and mature now. He is making the decisions on his own.

Be careful in all you do at this point...further aggravating your ribcage can seriously affect your breathing. Once you are home, please, have it checked out...and watch out for those hugs from your family, right now is not the time for such.
