Our IG, Sophie, has had her last vet visit this morning. She was born during Katrina. Very somber around the house today. Sorry to hear this Ron.

Ronv69 … Sorry to hear that. We had a scare with our 12 1/2 y.o. boy yesterday and it's really hard. I hope it's nothing too serious. We have our Yorkie who is turning 3 in a month. Probably our last dog.

I hate to hear that Ron They hold such a special place in our hearts. Paddy, broken ribs suck. I broke 2 on my left side when I slid off a metal roof and a ladder was nice enough to catch my fall. Less than a week later I broke 2 on the other side when I was drunk and tripped. Sneezing is so much fun! When I thought they were healed up I tried to pick up a sheet of 3/4" plywood and felt 2 of them crack again.

So sorry, Ron for your heart breaking situation. I've suffered through similar situations...and suffer is the right word, when love is what you feel for your furry ones. "Woke up, jumped out of bed, ran a comb across my head"...I'll let you finished that Beattles song. Decided to do something I rarely do....started the day with a smoke that is slowly dwindling down to a few flakes...Irish Condor is what I'm speaking about...filled a small Dublin Grand Duke Grabow...a pipe that doesn't hold much...fine, I don't have much left of that delicious tobacco...smoked it in silence, enjoying every puff...so sad to see it go...like an old friend who is leaving...not like just any old tobacco...Irish Condor is special...to me.

0600 and sleeping peacefully when Hopson (Hoppy) the male cat decided it was time to get moving and let me know about it. He will be heading to the Vet soon for "alteration".
0 degrees (F) this morning. Woodstove went out overnight, so it was "palito's" (kindling) sprinkled with diesel fuel to get the fire going fast. House warming up, fortunately.

Bully the Lionhearted is finally playing by Marquis of St. Louis Rules. In bed you do not fart bomb. You may lay down a bunt (no suicide squeeze) and await a reply. If none, hold tight. Literally. Upon retort you may escalate the affair by using the salami gas you've been saving in your appendix to fight back. At no point do you directly engage the enemy by skin contact. You must lay beside them, armament aimed properly, and then deploying missile. If your human attacks first, especially by farting when your face is snoozing next to his rump, all bets are off. You may employ WMD Garlic Cheese Bread Farts.

Our little girl puppy...only farts small roses...at least that is what I tell my wife. Neither of us is one to talk, however...make the paint take off runnin'...clears out any hidden bugs.
Spent the day chasing pain meds...every pharmacy said they are out...finally went to the local hospital...they can't afford to be out.

We just came in from watching the eclipse. Pretty amazing. All I have is 8x40 binoculars, but the air is so clear that it seemed as though I could have reached out and touched it. Fantastic sharp textures. The color is subdued compared to the pictures, but that's probably my brain color correcting something that is hard wired to be white.

I had no idea it was happening until I walked out late last night. There was a sliver of white but you could clearly see the rest of the moon as a rusty color.

32° and cold here this morning here in central north Florida...what happened to the sunshine state?
Morning, Ted and early rising Patchers! Too damn cold to go out on the porch yet. Coffee is on the ticket in a few moments...see what the rest of the day brings.

I got up a little while ago to 3 deg. and a wind chill to -13. brrrr. My oldest daughter arrived at Disney world with the grandkids last night and said it was cold. It's supposed to get to 33 tomorrow and 42 wed. than 20's for the next couple weeks. The joy of living in northeast Ohio. Stay warm down there.

Back to work today after a longer sleep than I should have had, but I was wrecked after no sleep the previous night. I'm still in agony, but going to see the doctor this afternoon for stronger pain relief. All my medical professional friends tell me that there's nothing that can be done for broken ribs, so there's no real point in going to A&E to get an x-ray. I'll see what the doc says. Hopefully the stronger pain killers will do the trick.
Good to be back. I don't think I'll get through a week's wroth of threads here though. It's been busy.
I've missed you guys.

Paddy, welcome home, glad you had a good night of sleep. Hope your family is doing well, have a great week. Feel better, you need a bit stronger non opioid pain medication. You might need to be wrapped around your rib cage!?!?!?

Glad you're back and hope you feel better. I'd like to tell you your ribs will feel better soon but it will be a while to get them healed up. At one time or another I've broken every one of my ribs through accidents or drunken dumbassery. Glad I'm past the drunken phase but I broke 3 of them a couple years ago when I slipped on my ladder coming off a roof. I'm lucky I didn't do worse since it was a 20 foot fall. Welcome back and hope all is well with you and your family.

She's given me slightly stronger pain killers so that might take the sting off it.
