Almost finished getting the apartment back in order after spending way too much on the remodel. I've decided to give The Pipe another go but it leaves a lot of unburnt tobacco along with the dottle which seems pretty wasteful. The thing continues to be extremely heavy but it's a pipe you can smoke lying down...which sounds like the first scene of a house fire PSA!

One thing I have to say about cobs that doesn't seem to be said often is how the tobacco burns more easily to the bottom. Been smoking cobs for two days straight.
As to lying down, most of my smokes are that way, and typing as well. Arms don't stay up that well. I force myself to think of whether I am awake enough to light one up. As for PSA's, the one below was so cool I smoked more cigs thinking about it than it giving me the desire to quit. Where were you a-headin', Johnny Smoke?

Yeah, they made Johny Smoke way too cool. I mean, how many bad guys get their own theme song?

Today I struggled through a bowl of folded and stuffed kendal cream. I 'dried' it out for about 30 mins before stuffing, but cos it's a flake I don't think that did much. Next time I'll rub, dry and then pack.
Also had a teeny bowl of creme de casis... It's a tobacco that tastes like nothing to me but it makes my moustache smell terrific. No other tobacco does that.
Anyway, off to bed. Enjoy the rest of your day, friends. until tomorrow....

There's always The Lady Killer, Whitehall Black Tie. Even some bad reviews said the smell drove women to new heights. From a personal standpoint it's just a good black cav with a nice top note that is different than many others, but not so unique you have to have it... unless you're me

Went walking with an older friend of mine at a nearby arboretum yesterday; we walked over two miles over varied terrain through the woods. The fellow was once my boss but has been retired for over five years. I enjoy the walks but he talks almost constantly and I can't find an opportunity to say anything to contribute to the conversation. It is maddening; by the time he finally pauses enough for me to say anything, I have forgotten what I was going to say. Smoking a bowl of Dark Bird's Eye in a Dr. Grabow Belvedere billiard and drinking Maxwell House coffee.

I had met someone I thought would work out as friends once. He had a few issues, but was nice enough. However, he was non-stop. When he did take a breath, where I thought I could comment, he shifted so quickly to something else it was unbelievable. Shame is he had super knowledge of everything from JFK to local Wrestling history. Gave us headaches so bad I had to let that one go. I'm seldom without something to say, but I learned to be a good listener... after being told I should be so

There are others who just talk about themselves and never think to ask you about your life. Grrrr

Took a date yesterday to the boxing match. I got decent seats and everything (beer, shrimp, etc.) and she was pretty cool and seemed into it until I lit a bowl of Standard Mixture. She didn't like that at all. I might have to try this Whitehall Black tie next time.

Girlfriend and I just had lunch at a fancy Thai restaurant. It was a pleasant break from the local restaurants. She actually said she wouldn't mind it if I smoked around her.

And now she thinks your tobacco is smelly?

Right now smoking Super Value English in the Lady Margaret cob. First two bowls of the day were MM Great Dane Blend in various cobs of dubious distinction. I can't say enough good things about this MM Great Dane Blend. I called MM over thinking it would not be produced anymore. Not that I would have ordered it from P&C, but they had all the MM blends listed "No Longer Available." Well, between someone else's and my call that has been changed to backordered. New Router is going back. This might be of interest to anyone whose wifi gets disconnect (at home) often. My wifi had guest connections, so I shut those down. Still problems. Here's the key issue. Some wifis have two speeds that they go back and forth from, depending on if they can achieve it. Switching the signals doesn't matter much to a line connection, but it forces wireless computers to disconnect and have to find the new one. Shut down the faster option, as the slow one is totally fast anyway. Problem solved, I think So, I ordered a few more cobs and 3 pouches of Great Dane and 1 American Spirit directly from MM. Folks there are really friendly. I have to say, Outstate Missouri and Kentucky have some of the friendliest people in the world. Still haven't gotten to the John Cotton Blends in my cellar, but with the Murray's I have had I wonder why people are so hyped about Dunhill. My bowls have increased from three to almost ten per day. Life is sweet. So is Great Dane Tobacco, but in a Sugar Barrel way, not a full on aro way
