I've missed more time at work in the last 2 weeks than I have in the last 5 years combined. It's not sitting well with me today and has me in an extremely screwed up mood. Easy,... big guy! You've had a lot of stress on you, same with your wife. Have a smoke, try to relax as best you can...you have a ton of friends here, while we can't take on your stress for you...just know that everyone here supports you and, as best we can,..."feel your pain". You've got a great family and work will always be there...the fact that you have missed it, is because you are the good Dad that you are.

I got a Flu shot today. I've gotten one every year for several years now..So far I haven't had the Flu..Maybe it's just luck..I don't know. I just feel a little safer with the shot and insurance pays for it. I get the shot every year, then I get the "other" flu.

Thanks fellas. It's not that I'm getting down on myself or anything, it's out of character for me. I have a way I do things, and somewhat of a daily schedule. When it gets out of whack, it screws me all up. It'll pass, all things do.
My wife and kids are doing wonderful and they're happy, so I know I'm doing it right
I've had 1 flu shot my whole life. That year, I got the flu. So I went back to taking my chances.

Most folks take a two week vacation every year just because you took yours at the hospital and miss that sleeper recliner is no need to get excited. You still have a job and a family so it is not like you are living down by the river in a van. So cheer up dust yourself off and start all over again. Bill Gates is not going to kill me with a flu shot I plan to go on natural terms.

Dropped the trike off at the mechanic shop today and on the way home I stopped by the old lake house. It's a different color but not much else has changed. I got out and walked around the house and thought about how nice and quiet it was. Really quiet. So quiet that you could hear a fish flip his tail. Then you could hear the trees growing. Then I remembered why I sold it. Before I got back on the highway the mechanic called me and said he had it running and it needed a new $380 fuel pump.

Wide awake in the USA shaping up to be a boring weekend. Heck we don't even need groceries I suppose when the ninja chihuahua wakes up she deserves a trip to the new dog park. She seems to like that and last night she got pretty mad because we didn't take her to get a soda as it was to hot. Thinking of having a cigar out back decisions decisions. Everybody have a good day.

This weekend started out with some excitement. I am about 1/3 of a mile from the CO NM border and can see the highway state line from my front door. Last night the CO State Patrol and the NM State Police set up a roadblock. I can see the lights of eight police cars. No one leaving or entering either state over this highway. Just in time for this weekend's Fall Arts Festival here. Hundreds of people are expected to view the work of dozens of artists and craftspeople. Let' hope they clear out by sunrise.

Headed to the Vernon Street Fair in a little with the family. Jr and I are participating in a Karate/Weapons demonstration at 1p.
After that, they are having a music festival on my block from 12 noon until midnight so we will head down there to hang out.
Happy Saturday Patchers!

Got up way too early this morning 4:00 am. Had my coffee and smoked a couple bowls and got ready to head to pipe club. Figured I'd leave early so I could get a seat. I was real early, a whole week. Instead of driving the hour and a half back I hung around and had a few cigars and learned a little more about them.

Having a lovely weekend with the fam. The boy is growing fast and eating some solids loves oats, bananas, and carrots so far. More importantly he's been letting us sleep a good 6 hours straight at night. I have really been enjoying this experience with my wife and son. I never really wanted to have kids until I met my wife, and now that we have our son, I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Stay cool out there for those in the south, everyone else enjoy your autumn/fall!

When one's family is lost, life is never the same again. I found an envelope with some keepsakes in the garage yesterday while cleaning. One thing that brought me to tears was a birthday card from my mother from 1991, that said how proud she was of the man I had grown into. I know so many people who didn't have that kind of love in their life. I also found a poem written by the woman who sat behind my dad in church every Sunday about how much she missed him. I had never seen it before. I sat in the garage and flushed out the old tear ducts for a little while.

My grand parents raised me they have both been gone for many years. I used to talk to grandmother every Sunday and not a Sunday goes by that I don't miss her.

The children must have knew that I needed a day with my pipes. They've cooperated with their sleep schedule all day long and I was able to get 6 pipes in. It was nice.
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

I loved my grandmother dearly.I will always remember the love she gave me. I listened to the concert on PBS tonight, and a great rendition of Patsy Cline's Crazy was delivered well. My mom sang the song so many years ago at at a Colorado rodeo, and really nailed it....I lost her at 17 years old. As Willie would say in another song...Funny how time slips away.

I live on the farm I was half raised, not a day goes by that a memory enters my old senile head. My Fathers father dotted on me, I could do anything, certain songs bring back sad memories, but by and by its a good thing memories, like an old filing cabinet that has gold in it.
