It's more money, more hours and I'd have a couple people working under me. It's pretty much the same thing I'm doing now, but the new boss actually knows what hes doing, unlike my current boss. Its more of the stuff I like doing (framing, tile, wood floors, trim work, etc) and less of what I dont like (dumbasses that do less and know less that get paid the same as me, a boss that is clueless and never has the right tools and material, and painting.)
The only thing I NEED is a 40 hour(+) check every week, unless I miss time due to my own stuff.

Josh all jobs suck so SHOW ME THE MONEY! Every time you can show higher wages on your resume your next employer thinks wow this guy must be worth it. If you can get to a point where they supply a company vehicle and pay for the fuel with trust to hand you a credit card, stick around for awhile.

Theres nothing really holding me back. Hes been trying for a while but my life has been chaos with the pregnancy and babies. I didnt want to start a new job and then have to take time off right away. But now all of that is behind me and I can move forward. It's in the works, I've talked to my wife about it and I'm calling him this afternoon.
Its reaching a point where my current job has became stagnant. In this line of work, when that happens, it's time to change it up. In 3 years I've made my boss a ton of money doing things that he has no idea how to do. 3 years later, him and the other guy still havent learned anything.
For a few months now I've hated coming to work. It's just time to move on.

Another coolish morning has crept up here in central north Florida...I hope this isn't just a tease and a blistering couple of months coming.
As Paddy has stated above, "the decision has already been made"...go for it, Josh, you deserve the right to have a good job with a boss that realizes your potential for him and you to make a ton more money...you just have to whip the guys below you into shape so they emulate your work ethic and don't give you a bunch of unneeded headaches.

You're having a year almost like the one that we had in 2012. I hope that you make it to the end without anymore broken bodies. Yea it would be nice to have a quite rest of the year. But life goes on, and the grass is always greener tomorrow. Think I want to go back to bed and wake up tomorrow. It will be time to mow it again by then. 😋🤠

Right now, no matter what I do, I’m working with leadership who asks me to come in and trains and develop their people, run sales processes, etc and they get the credit when things go well. This other gig will allow me to be the boss and manage the P&L / operations the way I want. If things go well, I get the credit, if they don’t, I take the fall. I’m fine with that.

It took me a year of unemployment and a few months to get my head straight. My old bosses were AWFUL. I mean, AWFUL. If you have a better opportunity, where your boss respects you, and values your skills, jump on it. Now.

High 30s this morning. Now overcast and cool 60s. Light breeze. Done all I am gonna do with the irrigation, Five people still watering their fields.
Our local cougar is still in the bosque. The cat was heard screaming at two coyotes. Seems the kitty has a deer carcass to work on and it is off limits to all others. Neighbor could smell something dead in the woods.
In response, I am heading back to bed to read for a while, then a nap.

Time to move forward Oh, you know he will be thrilled/s...don't let his mouth get in the way of heading to a great new job. If he pisses you off, just walk away, don't give him any satisfaction...he had his chance to be right with you and didn't...probably cause he is a moron. We know plenty of those (self included).

He's not going to be happy at all. He knows who does the work and who knows how to do all of the work. But that's fine, the new boss said I could start whenever I'm ready. Old boss can promise more money or whatever he wants, but it's not going to work. Hes made promises and hasn't kept, I've talked to him about my issues and there has been no change. There's A LOT with my current job that I've been unhappy with for quite a while.
"Don't bite the hand that feeds you" doesn't always mean the "little guy" is the one that needs fed.

High winds and dry heat in Northern Cal. Fire season is here. PG&E has notified customers it may shut power off if winds are too high. They don't want another 'Campfire' fire like they had last year. Can't say as I blame them. They don't want another Campfire, already in bankruptcy because of that one.

That's my philosophy as well. I love what I do, just not who I was doing it for. His quality of work is no where near what I expect out of myself. The money wasn't "bad," but I'm worth more than I got paid. He knew that and told me that numerous times, but didn't fix it.
Now the money will be better. I gave him a number today and went a little higher than I thought he would go, he bit. Damnit, should have went higher!! Not really, I'm happy with the outcome and the opportunity
