I've been walking every day for the past 3 months. It's become part of my daily routine. I've worked myself up to over a mile a day.I'm trying to lose some weight and get in better condition in my old age. Today it rained all day so I didn't walk.In A strange way I feel like I let myself down..It is what it is though..Besides at the end of my road there's a small park. There's a squirrel that hangs out there.I leave him some dry roasted peanuts every day.He didn't get them today. He's probably not real happy about that. Unhappy squirrels still taste good. 😈😁🤠

So, I got a truck with controls that looked exactly like my old truck. I thought everything would be the same and easy for my old brain to handle. But, there are a COUPLE of new buttons that I didn't understand. The Frigg'n owners manual for this truck is PDF only because it's 710 PAGES!. I looked up the couple of things I wondered about, and found dozens of features that I didn't know it had. The first clue was when I was driving home and it started TALKING TO ME! I got a text and it wanted to read it to me. I almost wrecked it right then and there. It has voice recognition and some things require that I tell it what to do! I miss my old trucks. The 51 Ford was perfect with nothing to break. The 73 Ford was very good with AC and power steering. The 13 Ram was perfect for an old man, not too complicated and it didn't talk back. And all of those owners manuals fit in the glove box. 🤯🤬🌋👺👹🤠

That must've been an absolutely horrible experience. I wish you a speedy recovery. AND a large settlement. Being in IT, as I know you were, I can't stand new tech. It just seems like overkill 90% of the time. I know they mean well, but some of the stuff they build in is totally superfluous. I will say, the new lane change alerts and integrated hands-free Bluetooth are great features.

What cars need is a hand that comes out the dash and back slaps driving texters. Put the phone down and drive. You don't need GPS to go to work everyday. Make up should be put on at home not while driving 70mph on the toll road. The more cool stuff something has the more it is likely to break. But it is great day as Ron has new wheels and his camper fits and he now has a back seat and that is handy when you live in the swamps of Tejas.

Ron I understand what you’re saying, my not new 07 Tundra had a dash board glitch that cost 1100$, that was months ago, now I’ve got a light that tells me my airbag wont deploy, called Shop Foreman and he says 100$ to tell me how much to fix, could be up to 1500$, I told him up yours, I’ve driven trucks all my life with no airbags, and once a month I drive this piece of 💩to the feed store. Too much crap on trucks, gonna see if I can’t buy and old 6 cylinder truck with roll up windows. That’s my rant, but man oh man I’m so happy you didn’t get really hurt Ron, even if you’re air freshener got dinged!!

Ron, you touched on why I have kept my Toyota Land Cruiser for 32 years and my Ford truck for 20.
I appreciate some of the modern conveniences such as the camera mounted on the tail with a screen in the cab. Useful for backing.
Voice recognition commands are only wanted if they recognize lines from Shakespeare and Shaw so I can speak and they respond. That would be fun on a long drive re-enacting "Henry V" or "The Devil's Disciple".

Awake again after the Ninja Chihuahua attacked me for her morning hugs. A little nippy at 50 in the swamp got me some new Wally World lounge pants in festive holiday colors to keep my legs warm. Piping hot coffee at the desk with a pack of Benson and Hedges cigarettes that I got for two dollars a pack. At one time Benson and Hedges had a tobacco blend long before my time. My grandmother always smoked B/H so whenever I get them it is like going back in time. I don't plan on doing anything today and my strategy is to remain as far away from retail stores as I can get until after Christmas. Well I might have to go the grocery store a man does need coffee beans and cream to survive.

Would love to see a picture of her...we have one also...she is my delight.

Well, my son and wife are killing me, getting ready for Thanksgiving. Picking up, shinning silver, burning boxes, polishing, man can’t we just cook the dinner and eat! Bugged out on back porch and smoked a Oliva Series O, at least they leave me alone when I’m smoking.

Got up this morning around 7:40, drank coffee, ate a naan, visited on line. It was 18 degrees outside. Promptly went back to bed and arose at 11:10. Now it is nearing 40 and I am going for a walk this afternoon with a neighbor lady. Nothing romantic, just two old people, exercising their right to be creaky.

Drove 35 miles up to a former co-workers house so that he could put (4) 90 degree bends in a piece of sheet metal for me. I've kept this piece of metal for 6 years keeping it through four different moves in the last five years just so it could hold my power supply for my ham radio under my desk.

It only took 2 minutes to put the bends in his sheet metal break, but now I have to paint it, attach the 30am power supply to the side of it, then wire it up with a shut-off switch, aND atach the bracket to the underside of the desk,....... Then route the wiring down under the desk and re-hook up the wiring to the 20 power supply. Nothing is easy or quick anymore for me.

Busy day. We were out of eggs so we we went out for breakfast. Ham and cheese Omelet, breakfast potatoes, bacon, biscuit and gravy and coffee. 1100 calories on a 1500 calorie diet. ☹️ Water heater went out last night and I had to change the elements. On the drive to the Depot it had warmed up and I needed the AC for the first time. Guess what? No air. The fan was blowing loudly but no air was coming out. I was ready to return the truck, but the dealer was closed so I sat around for a while being mad. I got to thinking, "this truck is from Southern California. The land of dust. I pulled the cabin air filter and it was completely clogged. I had a new one for the old truck that I never needed. (we don't have outside dust in Houston). Now it's blowing like crazy. So I got to thinking some more about California and I popped the hood and pulled out the engine air filter. Sure enough, caked with dust. Off to Walmart as I was already wearing my yard work green jeans and a puke green t-shirt with stains. I felt right at home. 😊 I picked up some weather proof floor mats and a jug of oil while I was there. So, now it's looking like a keeper. I was in a lot of pain the whole time. I just want to sue that beach!

My BIL is not expected to last the week. My wife visited him today and he is out of it, 7-8 breaths per minute, irregular pulse. The hospice folks are saying that his willpower is all that's keeping him going.

🤯🤬🌋👺👹🤠 That would have scared the s h i t outta me...a voice talking to me...I probably would have thought God was talking to me. I'm so glad that my old piece of crap truck is still running...I keep it maintained with the hope that it will out live me...I couldn't work with these new trucks with all that crap that I don't want or to even have to think about. I worked with a guy in the 70s that had a Toyota that talked to you. Please buckle your seat belt and such. I hated it and so did most people I guess because they quickly dropped that feature. The new truck also has a safety warning screen that pops up on the radio when you start the engine. You can't use the radio until you touch "I Agree" on the screen. I get it on the Gold Wing that won't let you use the navigation unless you are stopped in neutral, but I really hate it on the truck.

Karate this morning and then I took the boy for his early Christmas present. We hit Guitar Center and we picked out a new Ibanez electric guitar with all the accessories. He’s a happy young man. We had to order some stuff that wasn’t in stock but everything should be delivered next week.

She is looking a little better, we FaceTimed earlier. Still sore but she looked better and was smiling when we spoke with her.
