I still have and use my old Kel-Lite. This was the pre-Magnalite flashlight carried by patrolmen around the country in the 1960s and 1970s. Heavy, solid, not as bright as the modern ones but a different bulb might help. I know from experience it will subdue those who resist. Fortunately, that is not a problem I have to deal with here, very often anyway.

Got home a little while ago from our trip to NYC. I'm beat and my feet are blistered bad but had a good time. I visited Barclay Rex and picked up a bag of Penzance and some of their blends. I was with my son and later Kim met up with us at the hotel and gave me my Christmas present, a Rossi author and a bag of Penzance. My daughter was with her and she stopped at Barclay Rex to get me a present and when they were looking around my daughter spotted the Penzance and told Kim it was the good stuff so now I have a pound of it. It's nice to know my kids pay attention to me when I show them something and let them know what's good and what's not.

Yep the Maglite is a weapon. You can crack a skull and it still works and still being made in the good ol USSA. Looks like Ken is making out big time in NYC.

No visits to Barclay Rex, but I did get 6 Papaya King hot dogs. That's almost as good. Maybe not. Haha.

I used to eat at their places about once each week when I lived there back in the early 1980s. Good Dogs with Kraut and Mustard.

NYC and Chicago seem to have a running battle between their hot dogs and Pizza....both cities seem to excel in that regard....I think that they should hire me for a fact finding investigation during the spring and fall to provide an unbiased evaluation...a six figure salary would suffice.

A commission should be empaneled. Consultants hired. I am available.

The thing is, NY has pizza, Chicago has focaccia casserole. That's not necessarily bad, but it ain't pizza. A good Chicago dog, is a thing of beauty, though. A NY dog is utilitarian, and remarkably delicious in it's own unique way. It's a tie in hot dog land, but there can be no comparison in pizza land.

I got tired of finger pecking out long responses so I Googled up how to do the voice dictation on this new Google Chromebook that I got for $100 last week when it was on sale, maybe the best $100 I ever spent, as fast as it is. the other things that I like about this is that I can go to YouTube and listen to some music and keep it going while I click on another Tab and explore the web. I cannot do that on my tablet that I have been using the last 4 years. I received the Mobil 1 oil filter that I ordered from Walmart but have not received the Mobil 1 oil yet. I am likely going to get the Mobil 1 trans fluid and a new filter so that the mechanic who works out of his garage, can change them soon. I always buy the extended performance product. It should be a law in this country that everyone should have to use it and only require one oil change per year, It would save millions of gallons of oil, drastically reduce pollution and wasted resources,(supposedly the same amount of oil that leaked from the Exxon Valdes tanker gets dumped into the ground and storm sewers each year),and processing waste oil. But that would make too much sense and reduce corporate profits, and we can't have that. No one really gives a sh*t in this world. We still lack the intelligence to get together in localized groups and discuss things that would ensure positive, continuous improvement actions for future generations. It's all about selfish greed, as the Corporatocracy controls all humans including politicians. I worked today on organizing the ham radio closet to prepare for getting the 24" iMac from my daughter, and the wide screen monitor which will take up most of the back wall on the main desk area. I put connectors on the 12 gauge cable that will go from the power supply to the HF radio. I'm never satisfied with things in life, as there is never enough proper layout and organization for me. I like garages that look like operating rooms too. Ate Sushi at a place that has All You Can Eat for $12.00 lunch deal, once day per week.

Clearly, Chicago Pizza should be in a separate category. I am a slice folder. Without that capability, it is a different kind of pie. Both are excellent and I love them.

Raining here today in central north Florida...perfect day for sitting on the porch and having a smoke...good day for cobs...just enough chamber for what I want to smoke...I prefer a smaller bowl...that way I get to smoke more varieties and don't get nic overload.

If so, that's pretty awesome. I tried using the Google voice thingy when writing a message, but it's not great at punctuation.

36 in the swamp with good strong Komodo Dragon coffee at the desk. I suppose last night was the longest night of year or maybe I am off by a day. Anywho it is still darn dark outside at 0620 hours. The teenage neighbor kid stopped by yesterday so I gave him his Christmas present early a small Plano box filled with fishing tackle, not much but he seemed very happy. The big ribeye roast is on the counter being subjected to a marinade and we picked up some good bread yesterday. The daughter got her box of spices and various hot sauces along with dried peppers. The wife and I had a lot of fun putting that together shopping at various out of the way places. The mystery Santa presents are wrapped waiting for the wee hours of Christmas morning to be dropped off on the porch for the two smaller children up the hill. All in all a pretty darn good Christmas season.

Zero degrees this morning with high clouds. Might receive a little more snow Christmas Eve and Day, maybe not.
Quiet here. Currently, the head cat is sitting on my answering machine for some reason. I guess it is cold in here and the plugged-in device emits some warmth?

The only problem is when you pause for any length of time it stops the recording process. Yea, that sucks. I would have thought there would be a setting to manually stop recording...I pause to collect my thoughts quite a bit when dictating like that. It's like I can't work under the pressure of having an immediate word to say.

Yer a good hearted man and wife, Sean...thinking of those kids up or down the block from you...they will have the real treat of Christmas...getting something unexpected from a neighbor. Congratulations on being the kinda person that thinks of those things that bring humanity up a notch.
