Just finished working on my latest carve for the night, now settling in for dome Ice cream and a show with my wife.

Went on a three day run, which would have been a nice pace through New Mexico... my trainer decided to impress our boss in Idaho and made it a two day run from hell... it sucked big time eating fast food, little down time, and a loss of per diem pay.... this guy is a defecatably bad trainer... (forum spell check requires me to put it that way). I will be glad when I am on my own... I will then set the pace, dine in good restaurants, have downtime to smoke my pipe on and off the road. So is my El Paso idea starting to sound really good just about now!

I spent many years doing outside sales and life on the road is tough enough. Oh sure a chain hamburger or even chain restaurant is fine every now and again but after a good dose of it yuck. After a while one must find those local places to eat for comfort food. The same can be said for stopping just to get away from the wheel and take in the view or check out a curio shop. The job gets done with a lot less wear and tear on soul.

5 below Zero this morning when I went outside for an armload of wood for the stove. Should warm up, later this week, to Dawn at single digit ABOVE Zero. That will be welcome.

You should really move some place warmer like Ferguson Falls Minnesota or Russian Jack Springs Alaska.

Thank you for that Charlie. I hope today's kids take time to hear the simple lessons those kids had to offer.

Not a good day.. A real good friend was put in a hospital today for a heart bypass operation. I am not certain but I believe Heart Bypass surgery has improved from the days when the sternum needed to be cracked open. I recall reading that some of grafts can be completed "remotely". I could be completely wrong. Hopefully, your friend had an easier time with it.

A little nauseous thing morning. Received the second Shingles vaccination yesterday afternoon and I must be reacting to it. I will take a couple of days illness to avoid the debilitating effects of Shingles. Have you had your vaccinations, fellow old timers?

I had the old vaccine. I haven't gotten around to the new one. I take Valacyclovir 1 gram every day because I was having continuous attacks for years.

Likewise I take Acyclovir 800mg. every day to keep the dreaded attacks at bay. Used to have those attacks monthly...what a joy not to have that anymore.

Got me a brand new Maglite 3D cell Led today for a my Christmas present to meself. Also purchased a piece of 1inch PVC so I could use 4 C cells and not worry about battery leakage. Bad batteries killed my LED 3C cell them babies is stuck in the barrel. I did upgrade up to the rubber button instead of the twist style. A man has to have at least one good flashlight and that took some convincing to my better half. Hey 625 lumens is a serious flashlight and we all know there is nothing worse than a candle bug in the grand canyon flash light.

Got a great deal on a dozen Hwa/wys UltraFire..made by Cree (1 AA battery)...1,000 lumens flashlight....lights up a post over 500 ft away. Gave a couple to my BIL and he loves them. 1,000 lumens is a good nighttime blinder (if you have a need for such an item)

I took pictures telling the people at Duracell that the batteries prematurely leaked...they sent me a $30.00 check to cover the cost of the flashlight, and for a few weeks I received coupons for free batteries...probably $50.00 worth of batteries. I think that I somehow got mistakenly thrown onto the make it right to the customer carousel.
