I'm a libra too so I kinda feel your pain. Please excuse my ignorance, but do you have to be a member of either? Can you simply be an unofficial half-member of both? What does it mean to be a full member of one tribe? Again, please excuse my ignorance... I'm genuinely questioning. It was lost to me for most of my life. If I don't register wit a tribe, it will be lost to my descendants. They will hear what I heard, that we have so Indian blood somewhere in our past, and no one will know what or when. I have no shortage of illustrious ancestors on both sides of my family. Robert the Bruce, William Wallace, and Charles Lemoyne, who's sons founded New Orleans, Mobile, and Biloxi. I was already angry that I didn't know about these sooner. Then I discovered that my dad was secretly half Indian. I could have really used this information in my misspent youth, when the only aces I knew about were sharecroppers.

Ron, should have posted a reason: Sam Houston was an honorary member or something. As a Kentucky Colonel, besides family and friends, being in an organization that had some people in it, celebs, etc, that I love makes it more personal to me. Sam was an adopted member. I feel the need to connect to this part of my heritage. I don't really know why, but I am feeling it quite strongly. You are only allowed to be an official full member of one tribe. The Choctaw all a secondary tribe to be listed on your ID, but I would only be a member of the Choctaw. I am not sure what the Cherokee will do. Cherokee was the first Native American tribe I learned as a youngster. I am sure it had to do with Mingo from the Daniel Boone show. So, I always thought of Cherokee as friends. Had a friend growing up who was half Irish half Cherokee. Even at a young age he was embracing some of their spiritual aspects. So, I can't say, hey Ron, become part of the Cherokee because I had a friend once, but these are just memories I like and share.

Lent my mom my car last week and just found out she blew-out a tyre! I don't drive a lot so I didn't notice until yesterday and now I've got to make time to get a new tyre.

Mowed this morning after three days of rain. The sod on the shack is doing extremely well with all the rain we've had this year. Keeping that stuff alive the first year can take some effort. I haven't had to water and used some organic fertilizer which is pet friendly for the little doggies. I have a 1/3 acre corner lot. When I moved in to the new shack I went all in for an electric 80 volt Kobalt set from Lowes including a mower, weed eater, blower, four batteries and two chargers. It handles things like a champ and no gas or oil changing to worry about. I'll handle things myself as long as I'm able; afterwards, we have a veteran's lawn service here which employs vets I'll give my business. It's a good two hour workout for me as long as I can handle it myself.
New pup, Thor, is doing as well as can be expected. 16 pounds of cattle dog. I took him to the vet and got him on the program earlier this week. He got some shots and we go back in three weeks for boosters. It'll be a couple more months before he can be neutered. Lead training in the park is going well. We flushed a couple deer this morning which was a lot of fun.
Jury duty tomorrow, trial is set. My six month tour of duty ends in July. I don't mind doing it as it's important, somebody has to do it and I'm retired; nevertheless, I'll be glad when its over. I'll be exempt for two years if drawn again.
Life is good, no complaints.

@10furlongs I hope you get a fun trial at least. me too. Glad Thor is doing well too. Here it was 28 degrees today (82 F) - it's one belter of a day. I did a lot of my work outside where I could. The girls are now off school for 9 weeks which means a lot of entertaining. Still, with weather like this for the next week at least, it'll be easy enough to do. It won't last like this for long, though, but this is the best weather we've had since 1995.

At noon here in north Fl. it is 90 degrees and threatening to be a record breaker today with heat. The humidity makes it unbearable to be outside...particularly with the meds I have to take daily. Put a good sized window a/c unit in my shed/workspace so that I can listen to my oldy goldies while smoking and buffing my pipes.

At the minute we've got hot outside and hot inside. And the hosepipe ban is coming in force at 8pm tonight. First time since 1995. I managed a wee bowl of Irish oak earlier though so I'm happy. Might even squeeze another one in later.

Then again I am confused about whether I should call then my "whitey tighties" or my "tighty whities."

Pardon my ignorance...what is this hosepipe you speak of?
Ah William, they be the oldy goldies. I'm a creature of the 60-70's and that music takes me back to more enjoyable times. Being retired and a homebody, just being at the house with my wife, pup and pipes is total bliss for me. At my age tighty whities is not an option. Everything I own has dropped so comfort is a requirement.

So no washing car with a hose, no paddling pools etc. We've been told to take shorter showers etc. With all the rain we get here you'd think that we'd have no shortage of water. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-44651240

So no to Bobby Darin's 'Splish Spalsh'? But yes to Mack the Knife and Things (like a walk in the park). As to South Koreans they make great drinking buddies. Got drunk with a bud one night and pissed him off. He said, "Davie, I know Tai Kwan Do." I bust out laughing and said, "Harold (Hyung), I know Run Like Hell." Argument over
