I let my retriever out around midnight tonight and she started making a ruckus at the far end of the yard. We have a lot of trees and shrubs and I figured she had treed a cat. I got there and it was a young racoon. She went up into the corner of the yard shrouded by trees where it's totally dark and became even louder and more agitated.
I'm guessing she had the mother cornered there and I didn't want her tangling with a full grown 'coon. I finally got her to come back down into the light and had to snatch her up and carry her into the house. Not a small dog, but I'm pretty big myself. Nothing like a ruckus at midnight to get the heart pumping. So much for getting to sleep anytime soon. I'd have some scotch, but the cabinet's empty. Sigh.

I never nap during the day, for if I do Iβll be up the entire night. Two of my doctors here in NC tell me β sleep whenever your tired β, they get paid for there advice! My response β donβt you think I would if I could, how do you sleep with pain and stress in your life β! There answer is more drugs, which Iβm not putting in my system. I take Ambien 12.5 ER/TR on Wednesday and Saturday and maybe I get 3 to 4 hours of broken sleep. Of course my primary care doctor wants me on Ambien every night. One of my close friends is a Neurosurgeon, his advice is what I go by....β if you listen to your doctors eventually Ambien will no longer work at all for you. You need better pain management, time release patches. How the fβk do your doctors expect you to sleep with the type of pain your suffering from β? Donβt shoot any 44 magnums today, might really throw your good shoulder out of whack as well. HAVE FUNπππ

Well, made it back from the air show. Successful trip, I made it back and the airplane is reusable! Wonderful time swapping lies with old vintage airplane flying buddies from the US and Canada. Bashed around the field for the joy and amazement of the crowd . I was the only pipe smoker amongst the cigarette and cigar smokers as usual. When i fired up my ODF, My roommate asked me if that was the Goodyear blend, thought it smelled like shredded tires. He liked the Arango Balkan though, which figures since he's English. Here's a shot I took from a C-47 on a journalist formation photo shoot the C47 pilot invited me on. A P-40 and a B-25 in formation. what an awesome pic! Dad was into vintage planes as an enthusiast, lol. His favorite was the P-38, so I knew what that was. I worked at a day care in high school and one day we took a field trip to Coonskin Park, which is right next to the airport. They were having an air show that weekend. A couple planes flew over, they were neat but not unusual. Then this loud thunderous engine could be heard and looked up, and a P-38 flew over. I was the only one who knew what it was Hubby, being a Marine and having been housed in a barracks that Pappy Boyington painted a Black Sheep mural in, is partial to Corsairs. He is intimately familiar, though, with C-130s because that is what his unit flew. He was admin, but was pulled a few times as extra muscle to help change an engine, and as NBC leader he cleaned quite a few. I like the P-51, but C-130s have a special place in my heart because our Air National Guard flies them, and I grew up with four of those babies flying over my house in formation every Thursday evening. Our guys are the top rated in the country. Occasionally I get to sit in the parking lot on base by the airfield and watch them do their touch-n-goes.

No one believed me because they couldn't comprehend a newborn that didn't sleep constantly. Not my child. He was wide awake most of the day. Secret Transmission for ChroniclersThis info is to be kept under lock and key and is so Hush Hush, it's on the Down Low, to be kept on the QT, and held in strictest Confidence
Brigham Filters - For the most part, unless you have a Brigham pipe, what you have are cute little coke snorters... UNLESS!!! you are up to the challenge. Find out pipes they do fit. MM Country Gentleman for one. You might clip them shorter to fit in others. So, you ask... Okay, I know you didn't, why are these so good? They do not slow down your smoke. i forgot I even had one in my MMCG, They are good for better than twenty smokes. They may not filter out all that the others do, because it is like a straw. It does pick up stuff, doe not alter flavor. As many uses as you get out of one, 3$ for 8 is not bad.
Next is something I have mentioned in passing, but after all the tests I've run in my secret laboratory I can bring it to you now.
Wax Paper Squares: I am tired of jarring tobaccos, yet if I leave them in any of the different tins they dry out. I don't water plants or speak to flowers, so having a tobacco watering routine is out. For 5 Bucks, a Fin, a half a Sawbuck you can get 250 6x6 sheets. If you want, you can buy larger and smaller sides. However, the ones pictured below work for
Large Tins Sutliff Tubs Square and Round 2 Ounce Tins 7-8 Ounce Tins 2 ounce C&D style tins
The tins I have used these on have held their freshness or at worst you may have to add some water after a few months.
M'Lady and Gentlemen, may I introduce you to....
so, where do we acquire these wonderful things?

Thor is doing much better with house breaking this week. Daddy had to figure him out. He doesn't have any problems in the crate for eight hours at night, no fussing. My former loved cattle dog Zach's bed is all cleaned up and waiting for him as soon as he can be trusted on the carpet. Doggie gates to the carpeted rooms and crate rated for 110 pd dog were great investments. He's a little nugget machine, can poop seven times a day. I don't know where it all comes from? His poops look a lot better than puppy squish when I got him. They're solid and wet now. Quality kibble with a third of a can wet food mixed in for the morning feed and I take away the dry kibble bowl at 6:00 PM. 2 mile walk every morning except Saturday. Truck traveling in the F-150 is becoming pain free too. Bath time and clipping toe nails are already part of the program. He's starting to get with the program and not even five months old. He's had all his shots now, his little bags have dropped and neutering is scheduled for 08/07. I'm also going to have the vet remove his dewclaws when he's gassed. They serve no purpose and getting an angle to clip them is a real bear for old Daddy. I've been able to fast track Thor being retired. It makes me appreciate Zach even more as I had to do all of these things on the fly with him while I was working ten hour days. Thor is going to be a little champ in short time thanks to Zach, RIP little buddy.

If you want free shipping, check their policy. I forgot whether it's 25 or 35$. I order so much from them that I can always spend the minimum. I don't take ER meds as the dosages ebb and flow driving my system nuts. Codeine ER will buzz you, make you feel good, then wear off, then buzz you all in ten minutes. I don't take Codeine anymore, but that ER buzz would make me doze and wake up every ten minutes all night long.

Itβs the only prescription sleeping pill that actually lets me get 3 to 4 hours of broken sleep. Iβm not taking it every night as my doctor would like. Iβve never experienced the ER buzz, just a bit groggy the following day due to the fact I did not get enough sleep. Iβve gone 70 plus hours with no sleep, a body can not heal properly without proper sleep. For me 3 to 4 hours of broken sleep is better then none at all. I was on a dose of trazodone that should have knocked a horse out, so I was told. One doctor wants me in the hospital so I can be on a IV drip that will give me a full 9 hours of sleep, thatβs not happening!!!
PS The Ambien 10mg does not help either, I tried for an entire month every third night.

I can't recall a float plane with 4 engines except the old Martin or Boeing flying boats from the '30s and '40s. They had a pontoon fuselage and small pontoons out near the wing tips.

Will be taking Mrs Benz to the dealers tomorrow for a service, (of course dreading the bill), which entails a 140 mile round trip for me. Will thus be taking an enforced long weekend. Do not fret. I'll be back! Cheers Ant

We got a 3 month old pup just before Christmas last year. My wife fought the idea of getting a dog while I was still on active duty because I was gone a lot and we moved around a lot. She was probably right (as usual). He's a yellow Lab and weighed about 30 lbs. He is pushing 85 now at 11 months and will probably put on about 10 more lbs as he grows up and gains his "man" weight. Even though we have a relatively large fenced in yard, he needs a ton of exercise. I walk him at least 2 usually three times a day for about 30 minutes or so and my son gets on his long board and gets dragged around the neighborhood at least once a day. He jumps in the pool and swims around every chance he gets and he is still a bundle of energy. He is not the most disciplined dog in the world, but were working on it, and he sometimes is a pain in the arse, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. I'll be 60 in December. Hopefully we'll grow old together.

this is close to what i saw: I believe that's a Martin Mars flying boat. Late WW2 into the 50's. Also used 'till recently as fire bombers.
