I had a squashed box with a squashed tin from CI (not sure if they share the same warehouse and packers as c.com and P&C or not). I notified them and sent them a picture, and they offered to send a replacement. What they didn't tell me was that UPS would be coming to pick up the damaged tin, and that they expected the original damaged box. So UPS showed up unexpectedly one day, expecting it to be all packed up and ready to go. I had the tin but not the box, but the UPS guys said he had a label so he took it. A few weeks later CI writes to tell me they didn't receive the damaged tin and taht they require it. Later the same day they wrote to say that they did receive it after all. A lot of drama and expense on their end for one bloody damaged tin, says I. It's all too believable. I don't like calling on the phone. When I got 3 small tins of CCP&BN instead of three large ones, I wrote to them. Got a quick response, the right ones were sent out priority the same day. I was told to keep the others. Any idea how many times over they've been repaid in business? I was sending out some packages on eBay once. I guess the customer thought I was some big business. She bitched that the package was "opened", the three 1893 Columbus Expo coins were gone. I refunded her money within five minutes of the first email. I put up with three days of abuse hearing how sad of an individual I was. I have no idea the truth. I had a hundred degree temp the day I sent it. I ate it on her word. I don't sell on eBay anymore. Let my kids deal with it when I croak

Maybe SP has its own problems. I just opened my package from them today. I ordered a few items plus 4 ounces of Nightcap. Can you believe they put the label on the baggie upside down? I have spent hours trying to unzip the bottom of the baggie. Now I'll be fuming till I call them Monday demanding satisfaction!
Worse was that I had to put my glasses on to see why the heck I couldn't open it

I’ve never had an issue with P&C, packing or otherwise. In fact when I choose UPS two day, I usually receive it the next day.

My purchasing is no small everything fits in a nice slall box with lots of packing materials to keep it rattling about.. usually more packing material is in the baox than purchased items..

I'm the same. The joys of trying to dripfeed items past the wife so she doesn't notice... It's a bit like cooking a lobster.

I have all my shipments sent to my work.... since we are a freight company, the people that sign for packages note any issues of crushing, exposure, etc....I have had cartons crushed and a few dented tins, but no compromised seals.
And they are ferried to the cellar without the wife ever seeing me get them there...But, I am sure she has cracked the cellar and shook her head nonetheless.
I am going to write a children’s book about the tobacco fairies that stock the cellars of the most noble of the land...pipe smokers... kinda like an updated version of the shoemakers elves.

My last P& C order of 2 pipes, came in a crushed box. The flaps were askew and barely holding with two thin strips of low quality tape. Not open enough for contents to spill out, but it could be reached in and potentially pilfered. By contrast, not only are my SP orders up to snuff, at times they were packed so carefully, you'd think the packer was mailing the parcel to themselves.

Sad that I would like a pound of two more tobaccos to round my cellar out. Hine's and Nightcap Match. I will not waste time with P&C anymore.
I did write to SP and they said they could place orders for these at a pound a time, so when I get ready, I'll have them do that. If Pipe Nook ever gets Sutliff Brands then Eddie gets it. His packages are like Ammo Boxes.
