Oh wow. I would never be out of that place. It is unreal if you never toured. This month and spring when the gardens bloom is the best time. Every time I go I see something new.

I would like to be having a nice slow burn of a pipe on a live aboard sailboat, at anchor in a beautiful cove in the South Pacific. With my wife, watching the sunset over the water, as the sky fills with stars.

For today I would have to say along Wilsey Valley Rd, in Wurtsboro,NY. Remembering good and bad times of my youth. And family and friends in the area.

I can't pick between Glendalough in Ireland and Salkantay Pass in Peru. I've kicked myself numerous times for not taking a pipe on either of those trips. Such a shame.

Today, back at my restaurant on the Island of Malta enjoying a pipe with a dear friend. Arthur, if your reading this thread I want to congratulate your daughter on her accomplishment. Both you and your wife should be extremely proud.

In camp in the backcountry of the Wyoming Thorofare, on an elk hunt, sitting around the fire in the evening with my sons, smoking pipes and drinking strong, black coffee.

Have to admit I am very happy smoking on the golf course nearby. But I'd love to be walking in London just bushwhacking, so to speak.

Being of Irish heritage, I would love to smoke a pipe in an Irish pub in County Mayo or County Sligo where my ancestors are from.

...if we're allowed to go into the past, I would say the EMI Abbey Road studio on certain days in 1966 and 1967... And what was in your pipe?

Gotta come up with a new goal I guess. I guess I would like to meet up somewhere with some of you guys, and have a smoke. I think that is my next goal. My God, if we could put all these glorious locations together and make it a world tour of pipe smoking. I can't come up with anything better than any of the above. I'll have to agree with what jeffd said, the best place to smoke a pipe is anywhere you're with friends.

And what was in your pipe? ...take a guess, Perry... Well, those were the days in San Francisco, after all... Or did I get the city wrong?

St. Stephen's Green, Dublin. Or the back porch of the Skibbereen Eagle. I've been to both of these places before I took the briar...

Anywhere in the Black Forest in Germany. I was born, to military parents, in Stuttgart but went to the U.S. when I was just a few months old. I've made a promise to myself, since i was very young, that I would find a way to get back there before I die. Would have to have my sons with me of course
This is my 2nd choice... maybe just a bit East of the Black Forest...

A couple of weeks ago, sitting under an oak in a Florida creek bottom, squirrel hunting with my son, that was pretty perfect though. That was a nice pipe. Maybe I'll just pick that again lol.

First answer would be from my recliner in my living room but I have small kids in the house and a wife that doesn't care for the smell.
My exotic destination for one would be in an old leather chair by a fire in a log cabin in the mountains while it snowed outside and pot roast bubbled away in the kitchen.

Having stood outside the station in drizzly rain to have a smoke today,I'd say I'd like to have my old front steps back😂
Failing that,a doorstep or porch of my own!

Waiting for April to come and I can sit at the campfire and enjoy a smoke. If I could go back in the past it would be at my grandparents and have a smoke with my grandfather.
