If there is a tobacco that is not complimented by a cup of coffee, I have yet to smoke it. IMHO, coffee is great with Burley and Latakia blends, but overpowers Virginia and VaPer blends. I prefer water with those.

Community Coffee, medium, with half and half, in my camping mug.
I don't know why I have adopted this practice, but my blue spatter ware camping mug is smoking coffee mug. I like it. I think its because the coffee cools off a little faster and I love warmish coffee, not hot, with my pipe.

At the risk of being thought a hipster, I recently tried some cold brewed coffee. I wish it wasn't so expensive, because i really like it.

Get a quart Mason jar, put about an inch or so of coffee in the bottom, and fill with cold water. Let it sit overnight, and then strain it into another vessel (I use a French press), then put it back into the Mason jar. Mix it 1/2 with water when you use it. Also, my go to drinks are coffee (hot or iced) and seltzer.

Also, making cold brew is that easy as explained but I wanted to add in another note. While I can be pretty easy going with my coffee so nothing wrong with a standard preground package, fresh ground really is best for cold brew. Its best for all coffee but cold brew especially. Since its not as bitter as a hot brew, the smaller notes of flavor arent hidden so they are more noticeable.

Purple Fizzy is good for a summer smoke.
2/3 Welch's grape juice, 1/3 Pellegrino sparkling water.

Another fine and favorite accompaniment is wine with my after dinner pipe - if I have any left after dinner.

Although it can get expensive, I love Islay peaty malts with a pipe. That, or a bowl of Lucky Charms and milk. That's how I roll.

I just looked it up, and might order some for the heck of it. Edit: just saw "medium". I'll do some digging.

I cant explain it, but there was something there that I didn't pick up on before. The same happened with a root beer not too long ago. Most of my pipes are accompanied by coffee, it doesnt matter the time of day or temperature outside. Had 2 cups today with a pipe while dripping sweat in my shed. #2 would be water. I'd throw more dr pepper and root beer in there but I've been trying to cut back on my sugar intake. (No health issues, just something I decided to do).

Yep it certainly does with some blends, almost smooths it out sorta. And I too try to stay away from sodas see'en I lost my gall bladder due to it a few years ago. And I certainly don't need the sugar either.
