I would have to say Vintage Syrian for me if it comes down to one blend.

I would have to say Vintage Syrian for me if it comes down to one blend. Good stuff for sure. I smoked a tin of it a few years ago and have a couple back in the cellar. I normally prefer Lat in a meer but this one seemed to go better in a briar. Perhaps my cadence but it burned too hot for me in a meer, settled down nicely in a briar.

Jiminks can probably tell you if tastes like Nehi JimInks is a snob. He refuses to even try it. I'm not a snob. I'm just not into suicide.

Wilke #10 and Kramer's Father Dempsey are my two favorites. I used to love Wilke no. 10 when I smoked ‘English’ blends exclusively. I’m not sure if John is still producing it. If he is, I highly recommend it.

I also prefer it in a Briar, my larger bowled Larsen’s really allow the flavors to develop well, even though I my palate is less refined than others, it really makes a difference in English blends for me.

In the space of a month, my two favorite tobaccos are discontinued. First Dark Star and now #10. My search for a Balkan blend to replace it, begins. At least I have about 12ozs on hand. Wish I had several lbs. Funny that I just ordered some White Knight to try. It may be an adequate replacement for the #10.

I believe you asked for your top two Englishes. Mine are both G.L. Pease blends: Gaslight and Quiet Nights.

Lots of good recommendations in this thread, I'll throw another blend in - Dan Tobacco's Old Ironsides. It's latakia heavy and presented in flake form.
