Have you tried Knob Creek rye? As a fan of their bourbon, I am tempted to grab a bottle. I have, it’s good but yippee is amazing I'll give the Yippee a try if they have it. |

Thats what I buy when we are home in NC. It tastes great to me, Polish, potato & $20 vs $35 for Stoli or Absolute, up there. Down here in FL, Stoli is $25 (Handle) and Liksosowa is $22. Thus the Stoli in FL. |

Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select, 94 proof, 1 liter bottle bought on sale.
I have not enjoyed JD for many years since they started watering it down to 80 proof. This is much like what I remember from the old days. A one liter bottle for $39 seems reasonable. Not sure I would pay full list price, north of $50.
Smooth, mellow, vanilla and honey overtones.

I'm also a big fan of the 101. I'm not a big Jack guy. IMHO, it's overpriced for the whiskey you get. I'd much rather have EW, EB, or Turkey. Even Old Grand Dad is a better value, I think. Old Granddad Bond is my favorite bourbon and has been for over 50 years. I really don't think there's anything better. I have a bottle of the OGD 114 that I haven't got around to opening. As a side note, according to Ian Fleming, OGD was James Bonds favorite bourbon. Yes, OGD Bottled-in-Bond is one of my favorites. Rarely seen in these parts. I prefer it to the 114 which is also very good. |
