If I’m out in a bad area down “ heir “ I carry my Sig Sauer Equinox which is a 380 ankle strapped......I much prefer over a 9mm!!! Also cross carry shoulder strap with one of my 1911’s with 2 extra mags. Plus an EDC knife. Your hubby knows what he’s carrying will get the job done the first time if needed....Smart Man👍 Yes, hubby is fond of saying about a .45 -- Whatever I hit is either going down or coming off. My Marine, lol. Nice looking PPK! I had a cap gun that looked just like that as a kid.

Lady M, I remember those cap guns. More fun flicking those caps with your finger nails...lol
The model above was used in the original 007 movie

My Walther PPK.....it’s been on a few gun forums and I’ve been offered a pretty penny for the piece. Of course it’s not for sale, it has a meaning close to my heart ❤️! Use to jam all the time, a few years back I did a complete rebuild and a trigger kit..,has not jammed since. musical differences?

I owned a Bersa Thunder CC .380 hoping it would scratch my itch...but it just wasn't enough. Don't get me wrong, I had no complaints about the Bersa, but it ain't no PPK.

I just ordered another Cold Steel machete. I think that makes 8 so far. If I don't get to work on the back yard soon I am going to need them.

Not really a knife guy per se...I would rather have a gun in a fight...hell, if it's deadly force, I want to be the deadliest. I do have bayonets specific to the age of My M1 Garand's and M1 Carbine's. Top two are M7's (Garand's) Bottom two are M8A1's (carbines) Top to bottom: USMC Ka-Bar Western Knife, Boulder Colorado Western Knife, Boulder Colorado Western Boot Knife, Camillus NY Mini Ka-Bar with a Survival sheath.. .(very much under the radar in shitty states that think you should be subject to the criminal element...this chest rig is great for deep concealment )Every Day carry Gerber automatic (Illegal in shitty states that I try to stay away from)I won the Gerber tactical breaching tool (ding Dong) after I was invited to train with some operators that are far out of my league... My brother was with a company that was synonymous with international security, Navy Seals, Marine Recon, Green Berets, etc...It was a great experience, but I got my arse pretty shot up by them guys with simunitions. At 12 pounds, it should work well in a zombie apocalypse. For the first 400 years, guns were just used to get into sword range.

Both were nickel. I loved the way they were made, but they were horrible to shoot. I would put 100 rounds through my 1911s with no problems, but 20 rounds of 380 in the PPK was all I could take. There are much better 380s being made today.

Couldn’t agree with you more Ron. Below is a picture of my Sig Sauer Equinox 380 EDC I use mostly in warmer weather. I too much prefer carrying one of my 1911’s, a bit bulky in HOT weather to carry. I don’t open carry and I’m against open carry....JMHO. The Sig 380 has more of a muzzle lift @ 96 grains then my Ruger Commander @ 230 grain, not much has changed with the short barrel 380, which I prefer over a 9mm, just a personal preference.

I did sand the wood better and a few coats of Tung Oil. The knives Condor makes are worth at least twice the price. Even though a hobby of mine was making fixed blade knives, once I held a friend’s Condor Bushcraft I had too own one, came with a thick well made leather sheath. I paid $35.00 shipped new, the price is a bit higher now. Mine arrived razor sharp and the high carbon steel holds an edge well, easy to sharpen 👍

My 11oz LCP is much nicer to shoot than the 25 oz PPK. I have a Remington R51 that is the sweetest pistol that I have ever shot. 147gr +p is very pleasant.

Their machete a couple of years ago was around $55.00, wow they epwent up in price....popularity I guess. Also depends on what Condor machete model your looking for....different price ranges. The Condor Bushlore or Bushcraft Knife I paid $35.00 a few years back is now $45.00, just took a peek. Amazon has the Bushcraft for around $40.00.

So we were down at the pier fishing and my son was using my EDC knife to cut up some shrimp and fish for bait. I said "Ben, will you please do that on the middle of the pier so you dont drop my knife." He did. About 5 mins later he walked over with the knife and was cutting up more shrimp. Next thing you know... "CLANK!" "PING" "SPLOOOSH"... and that was the end of that knife. He looked up at me with a frown on his face, I just smiled, handed him a fishing pole, put a piece of shrimp on and told him it's just a knife, it's replaceable.
So I just ordered the same one, a SOG SlimJim XL... finally ordered the Ganzo knife, and added a Eafengrow EF11 (will be a Tobacco only knife.)

I keep a few cheap Mora knives in my tackle box, they get the job done, if you drop one in the bay/ocean around $18.00 gets you another. In the past 2 years they cheated out on the quality of the sheaths. The Eafengrow EF11 is made from good D2 tool steel, holds an edge and easy to sharpen....worth every penny....you’ll enjoy all three👍👍

It's a good excuse to get a new knife. I like have excuses to buy new things. Knives especially. My oldest son has more than me. I have many I could grab and carry to replace the one in the ocean, but why? It's much better to replace 1 with 3 more!

Another member purchased one after I recommended the knife and he’s thrilled with the quality and performance. He now cuts plugs like they’re butter. The knife is worth “ 3 “ times what it cost me, I’d definitely purchase another. The blue anodized screws and carbon fiber handle scales will impress you, and your son. Enjoy them all👍👍👍

I have been searching for my Boker Magnum Kukri folder for a few months and I finally gave up and ordered another one. Not an easy knife to lose. The old one was dangerously sharp and fell open as I removed it from my pocket. The new one is stiff and dull as a butter knife. Anyone know how to sharpen a 4 5/8 S-curved blade? I can't find an angle that works with any of my stones.

I just buy them because I like the shapes. I just got the Cold Steel Tanto Machete and I am very impressed. Took a super edge and held it through chopping through a 2x4 and a 4" oak limb. I am now equipped for "Knife or Death" 😈

If a knife is that dull and an oversized blade I’d use my Baldor bench grinder ( you’d have to remove the guide due to the size of the blade ) with two different wheels and finish off with ceramic sticks. If a knife is extremely dull using ceramic sticks alone is out of the question.

Here is a Cleaver I use to carry when camping. Last week I used Tormek paste to buff and give a lasting shine and two grits of ceramic stone to give a razor sharp edge. It’s made in Pakistan but extremely high quality, I’m very picky...it would have been sold otherwise. The sheath has deteriorated and when I’m feeling up to it I will be making a Kydex sheath, leather lined to protect this once again gorgeous Cleaver blade. Look close at the detail to the handle, Damascus bolsters and hand filing on the spine of the blade. The knife cost me $40.00, believe me it’s worth 5 times what I paid. Excellent food prep knife that will easily chop thru bone. Just now took the photo with my iPad. Thought I’d share a picture:

I also use a ceramic stick sharpener on my recurve blades. I also quit buying recurve blades Yes, the handle on that cleaver is drop-dead gorgeous.
