During the wee hours of the morning I finished watching seasons 15, 16 and 17 of Law & Order SVU. This series is still going strong π I recently watched an episode, and they went political...if it was a two way street, I could see it....Done with them. Many of the episodes went towards the political side in one way or another.

Doctor Who has started airing the new episodes with the female Doctor. I've been a Doctor Who fan since Tom Baker played the Doctor and wasn't sure if I would like the show runners making the Doctor a female. I will say that Whitaker is better than Capaldi because she comes across more like David Tennant and Matt Smith. In other words, Whitaker is playing the Doctor with the style and humor that Tennant and Smith did. So far, the wife and I like her. It's just a question of where the writing will take the show next.

I watched an animated series called The Simpsons in the 1990s. It was a very funny show worth checking out. Around that same time and for completely unrelated reasons I threw my television in the dumpster. Havent really missed it π

I don't watch a ton of tv,unlike by beautiful better half. She says I'm too picky. The degradation of tv over the last 30 years has encouraged me to watch even less tv.
Seems most networks and hollyweird in general can't stop politicizing my entertainment, so I try to watch things that are interesting and entertaining without all the spin,I recently stumbled onto a show called Mr Inbetween.I like it so far. I think it was created and produced in Australia,it airs on fx.

I just watched the first episode of 'killing eve'. It was excellent. Looks like a promising series.
Has anyone else seen it?

It's odd. Some people like watching re-runs of old TV series but I just can't seem to get into most of them after the second or third time. I mean how many times can you watch Hawkeye and Trapper make a fool out of Frank Burns.
On the other hand, I can re-read books time and time again. Lord of the Rings Trilogy? I read it once a year. John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee series? I have almost the entire series and read them all the time. The Sackett series by Louis L'Amour? I never get tired of reading them. The same with the books from Tom Clancy and W.E.B. Griffin.
The only shows I can watch over and over again are the documentaries about World War II on the History Channel.

I just started The Mayans MC. I loved The Sons of Anarchy. I am two episodes into to the Mayans and so far so good. Too early to tell at this point.

There are great Documentaries on "Nova", "American Experience" and other PBS shows. I still watch "Star Trek" every week even though I have seen every episode many times. Ditto "Dragnet". Some shows I just enjoy.

"Danger Man", 1965. "The Room in the Basement". Our hero, John Drake aka Patrick McGoohan, and his confederates rescue a British agent held capitive in the Romanian Embassy in Geneva. A real nail biter. Holds up well even by todays flash bang standards.

Highly recommend a few that I am actively watching. Peaky Blinders The Amazing Ms Maisel Yellowstone Taboo Peaky Blinders and Ms. Maisel I have seen and liked very much. I can't wait for the next season of the Amazing Ms. Maisel. Can't get into Peaky Blinders at all, but Mrs Maisel has the best writing I can remember in any series. Better than Cheers, better than Mash, and better All in The Family.

We watched a few episodes of the new Sabrina the Teenage Witch on Netflix. Radically different than the 90's TV show. Started out with the really dark side of witchcraft.

Finished Star Trek Discovery season 1 last night. What a steaming pile excrement. Terrible writing fill of cliche's, laughable dialogue, and plot holes; and it's like they deliberately chose the worst actors they could find. Even the okay actors just seem to be lazily faxing it it, like they're semi-depressed about the whole thing. Such an insult to the franchise. And I thought nothing could be worse than Enterprise. But aside from all that, we loved it!

Two episodes in to Hulu's The First with Sean Penn. Very slow, a bit pretentious, but so far good enough to keep watching.

Mine would be a classic called "Off TV" , that dates before I was born...A great show about the future, where over-stimulated youths trade in the past for a future of dependency. Only to be challenged by the renegades, who attempt to slow the youth down by releasing them from their Utopian dreams. It is worthy of watching and discussing at your local water cooler!!π
