I figured that since we have a section to rate movies, why not one on TV series (I did a search and couldn't find a tread on this)?
I've been working my way through 24 (again). It's one of the best ones out there. Loads of cliffhangers, some heart-racing episodes, and twists and turns throughout.
If anyone hasn't seen it I'd heartily recommend it.
10/10.

Does this include the category of "miniseries"? If so, I have recently enjoyed two. "The Terror" was interesting. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoy all things 19th century-ish British (long story). Aside from an interesting (albeit somewhat embellished) plot based on a historic event, I found it to be an interesting study of human nature. And who doesn't enjoy entertainment with a huge supernatural creature constantly lurking in the background....
I also enjoyed "Genius" (both of them so far--"Einstein" and "Picasso"). Interesting that both subjects come off as self-centered, irresponsible jerks. I also found Samantha Colley (not sure about her name) who played a role in both (Einstein's first wife and Dora Maar in "Picasso"), to be immensely talented. I had never heard of her before, but enjoyed her performances.

Does this include the category of "miniseries"? Absolutely. Like most threads like this, the 'rules' aren't hard and fast. It's a good way to see what others are watching and perhaps get some inspiration for what to watch next.

My wife and I, both loved it. Jared Harris is always fun to watch.

Watching "The Expanse". I really enjoy the show. It has been very entertaining this season. I give it an 8/10. It's strength is in the special effects and the story, more so than the acting, although some of that has been pretty good. Seems to vary quite a bit, depending on the character and actor.

Now that all I have is time on my hands I’ve been watching some TV. Caught up and watched 10 full seasons of Criminal Minds. Not a bad series I must say, but a bit gory at times.
Now need to get ready for a day with my daughter, she’s off from work today!!!

I have been binge watching a UK television series: Sherlock Holmes - starring Jeremy Brett. The best Holmes I have ever seen. It sticks to actual Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories. I can't watch it enough.

Don't think I have ever watched a whole series before. Well, maybe one year of Northern Exposure ( Janine Turner was the reason)

I've heard sherlock is great. I might check that out next.
Currently watching limitless (the series based on the film with Bradley Cooper). It's not bad. It's give it a 7.5 out of 10.

Netflix: Joseph Campbell and The Power of Myth ... plenty of "Food for Thought" in there.

I can't watch it enough. Not only that, but faithful to Conan Doyle's characters. The reason I do not like the Basil Rathbone movies is because Watson is depicted as a jovial moron. And he certainly was not that in the "original." Jude Law's Watson in the recent Sherlock movies was excellent--more accurate IMHO than Robert Downey Jr's portrayal of Sherlock.

I am starting Smallville for the third time. I would give it 8/10 taking points for missed opportunities in script and going too far into Cluster-F territory by continuing to trying to ONE UP the previous eppies.
The Terror Was great.
Damnation was really good, but write your own ending. You couldn't do worse.
Vegas with Michael Chiklis and Dennis Quaid. 2012 - The rebuilding of 60's Las Vegas and bright colors gave it almost a Douglas Sirk look (Magnificent Obsession).
Noble House - 1986 Mini Series, again, very bright, rich atmosphere blending Ancient Chinese Wisdom with Modern Business.
Sopranos, Jeremy Brett Holmes, Suchet's Poirot all great. From the 1950's, Men into Space. More realistic space travel than the Star Wars Bar Scene.

We've been watching a Spanish time travel series called Ministerio del Tiempo (Ministry of Time). Lots of fun and interesting to learn about Spanish history. Apparently there's also a Portuguese version, and a copyright-infringing US rip-off! jeffd where are you watching the Brett Holmes series? I haven't seen it since I was a kid and hear such good things about it. william, I agree about the 40s movies - totally let down by Nigel Bruce... but I think Rathbone was a great Holmes! @10furlongs, Doc Martin is great fun and a really accurate (if somewhat idealized) portrayal of remote British country towns.

Nearly assimilated into popular culture, I'll never forget the impact of Breaking Bad and anticipation of waiting for each episode. This is the high water mark in modern American television for me.

@chico--I know you asked jeffd, but I will chime in anyway. I remember the Jeremy Brett Holmes episodes airing on the Arts & Entertainment network years ago. One week would be a Sherlock Holmes mystery, the next week might be Agatha Christie (either Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot), then back to Holmes....
I found the Jeremy Brett Holmes series on DVD years ago and did not buy it because I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was. I wish I had bought it all now. Of course, you know what they say about hindsight....

The Granada series of Jeremy Brett’s Sherlock is available on the Britbox app. You can get a 7 day free trial to binge away for free. Britbox is downloadable on ROKU, my smart tv’s by Samsung do not offer the app. I agree, it is a great series.
The wife and I were talking about that in regards to breaking bad... you can watch the main character throughout making choices, informed by greed and self preservation to go from a mild mannered school teacher to a pretty bad guy. Nonetheless, I really liked the bad guy and didn’t like the good guys in it.

Cos it's not a high octane thrill ride like 24 but you've gotta keep watching.

"Doc Martin" is an incredibly charming series. One of Doc's receptionist (the ginger)had a show called The IT crowd, pretty funny. Kind of reminded of the Richard Thompson lyric " red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme." Of course the brunette wasn't bad either.

I know ya'll don't watch Mexican soap operas but in terms of US TV I recently saw The Ranch. It's nice to see Debra Winger again.
