My favorite Cob is one that I made. It’s a reverse Calabash Oom Paul style that smokes extremely cool. I’ve posted a picture prior under the thread “ What are you smoking “, I will post it one more time within this Cobs thread. VERY nice cob!

I really like cobs, like most of you here. There is nothing like a cob to handle an aromatic in stride without smoking wet. My favorite is a bent Country Gentleman but lately I've had my eyes on the Spindle and Spool styles that MM makes; not sure what the model is - Diplomat maybe? Wish they still made "corn-dogs" - cob pipes shaped like a bulldog. And I really like cobs with a bamboo shank!

My B&M had another bulk blend called "Whitetail" it was an English blend, and he discontinued it. I asked him about it and he said the place he got it from quit carrying it, but he would never tell me where he got it from or what it was actually called. Maybe I should try asking the other guy who works there.... Wear a low cut blouse and show some leg on your next visit.....you’ll get the truth out....😜🤪

Very easy to make the Cob your looking for, fairly easy and they are gorgeous with one or two knuckle bamboo shanks👌👍

You were planning to. Thank you LL, only contest I entered this Cob in was “ my total enjoyment of smoking this Cob and I took FIRST PLACE.....lol. “ Easy to create a superb smoking custom Cob to your liking/specifications with just a few tool and your favorite Cob bowls. Tools used: coping saw, small jewelers files, sandpaper, two stage epoxy and a hair dryer to give a slight bend to a straight stem. I also used a glass bead on top of the rear bowl so I could make the shank permanent. I used a natural stain and my bee’s wax and mineral oil for the final finish.

I love cob pipes. I didn't know how much until I picked up a Missouri Meerschaum Mark Twain. It's the perfect pipe for the working man or woman.

I have always been leery of cobs, including MM, because one caused me a wicked sore throat one time.
I have talked to other pipers who have experienced this also. I don't know if it is some kind of strange allergy (I can eat corn..) or what it is, but I avoid them since that happened. When the sore throat cleared up, I continued using the pipe, and it happened again, so I know it was the pipe.
