just in agreement with everybody else, like or not like. Will have to mention Don's remark earlier. I've been the "village idiot" longer than most have been alive.....well at least the BriarPatch idiot.
for what it's worth...my "standing" remains whotever the computer sez it is.

I'm with legendlover, prolific bletherer has a ring to it. Or maybe the levels could be: bah, poo bah, grand poo bah. They're all more elegant than "master bulls#@*ter."

Pro technically means you could be paid or you are paying. I'm with @10furlongs, mostly. A lot of people ditch out or quit posting after a while. We get people that quit other forums, come here, post once, and that's the last we see them. Someone called me a "Short Timer" here because of my blowup in another forum. That was about 3000 posts and darned near a year ago. I don't care about post count or labels, but this seems harmless to me. JimInks has Samurai of Smoke on his profile. I can't think of anyone who would disagree with that honor.

Unless pro is short for 'proflic poster', in which case that makes sense. Nicely done.

...lest anyone think I care about it much... not so. I just tend to see the world around me through language. I'm quite happy to remain a "senior" member... fits my age! I completely understand. I am a bit OCD about word choices. I have learned, however, that most people around me see no difference between two similar words that can convey very distinct information to me. Especially with color, lol. I don't usually just say "grey" it will be heather grey, or charcoal grey, or silver grey. Burgundy and maroon are two very different shades of red. Those distinctions are important to me because it's how I interact with what I'm experiencing. I admit that the "pro" status aggravates my OCD a bit. Prolific would be a much better choice. In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter? No. But to wordsmiths it's a thing.

Lady Margaret - I too am an OCD word nerd... have you noticed over the last year or so that folks, particularly over radio & tv media, overuse the word " moment", and " conversation"? Drives me nuts to hear them countless times a day! Like a dumbed-down mass herd hypnosis... yikes! 😱🤯😬..... 🤓

Now that I think about it, PRO reminds me of professional. I’m not in the business. This isn’t a hobby of mine. As one of our members wrote: It’s a way of life. I agree with that. Connoisseur might be accurate, but is kind of snobby.

How’s Jack, Queen, King, Ace.....LOL. Or just Active Member, Inactive Member, my point is.....for me it makes absolutely no difference.
Pro is also used.........a prefix of priority in space or time having especially a meaning of advancing or projecting forward or outward, and also used to indicate substitution, attached widely to stems not used as words: provision; prologue; proceed; produce; protract; procathedral; proconsul.
My favorite would be......Procrastinate

I must admit I feel the same way. All members of this forum are equal, only the Moderators & Admin are above us. ...well, we're all pipe smokers and human beings... no one is "above us", lol... I was simply questioning the designation as a writer and language geek. Dramatwist so you know this wasn't directed at you. I speak my mind and that is all!

There is really no right or wrong choice/opinion here, but it did get a conversation going.

Maybe I should have said "passing phrase." Please excuse my ignorance,But what is "Passing Phrase"? Is that like "Passing Gas",or "Passing a Stone"? If it's the latter,I think I'll pass, done that too many times already. As to the Former,I'm a Pro....
