Maybe I should have said "passing phrase." Please excuse my ignorance,But what is "Passing Phrase"? Is that like "Passing Gas",or "Passing a Stone"? If it's the latter,I think I'll pass, done that too many times already. As to the Former,I'm a Pro.... I think the term "clap back" stinks like passed gas. I hope ridding the language of this vile term is less painful than passing a stone. I've done that too.

Having never heard the term "Clap Back",again I must plead ignorance. However the few times I've heard "Push Back",it was applied in an appropriate manner. ie.."Push back the boundaries of our imagination." The same can be said of the term "Own It","this is your job,Own It".Or in clearer language take resposibilty for, and complete the task your way, but acceptable to whomever is in charge.

The 1 word that makes my skin crawl is "literally."
I never really pay attention to the titles. New, pro, senior, yadda yadda yadda. Even in my daily business I address everyone as Mr. or Mrs. [Insert first name here], and "sir" and "ma'am." Age doesnt matter 6 or 96. Southern thing for sure because when I go back up north, people hate it.
A lot of my post seem like rambling to me, just like this one. I'm an introvert, so being able to talk in "darkness" works out for me.

I'm just glad to have been upgraded from "New" to "Junior". If semantics is the issue, I'd probably just do away with "Pro", and just have "Full" and "Senior". "Pro" seems superfluous. All said, though, it doesn't really matter THAT much to me. But, I am glad to be "Junior".

After six months as a member I am clinging to NEW status. At my age I don't want to be a Junior anything!!
And furthermore, some of you guys have so many posts that one might question your balance in life. If some of these thousands of posts were allocated to us post count proletarians, we could all be truly comrades.

I'd gladly give over my post count if meant I'd be blessed with an articulate argument for this topic. On another pipe forum,I've been a member there for 3 years,my post count is 7.Have to have the right group sometimes to get a conversation flowing and then let it evolve to accept and encourage facetiousness.

You have no idea what I accomplished in life to get this far!

Other than my earlier comment on the system being fine, the only thing I have ever thought of is adding ranks by time served. Frankly, I thought that of many of the forums I've been in. It's really not a big deal to me. However, there is the sadness (and I will cry myself to sleep over this) that I will never be a Samurai of Smoke. JimInks is younger than I am, more healthy, more wise. I just don't have it. @markinor I'm ready for those tissues now. Sniff Sniff

You have no idea what I accomplished in life to get this far! As bad as my health is, I am grateful I made it this far, considering how nuts I was (I know it's hard to believe Lady Margaret). I have found more peace than I ever had. Xuan and I had some volatile years. Today she left the faucet running and flooded the floor. She kept apologizing, and I kept saying, "it's no big deal." Our house is a money pit, so a little water won't kill us. Said it in another post, I say a prayer of thanks every time I wake up, even if it's three times overnight

Rankings?
We could just use the corresponding numbers.
adjective, rank·er, rank·est. t]1. growing with excessive luxuriance; vigorous and tall of growth: tall rank weeds. 2. producing an excessive and coarse growth, as land. 3. having an offensively strong smell or taste: a rank cigar. 4. offensively strong, as a smell or taste. utter; absolute: 5. a rank amateur; rank treachery. 6. highly offensive; disgusting: 7.grossly coarse, vulgar, or indecent: rank language.

roadsdivergedDramatwistFor the past few years, Iâve noticed people are responding with âno problemâ when I say âthank youâ. WHY is this happening? Why canât they reply with âyouâre welcomeâ? It irks me.

Or "exactly" instead of "yes". Another one that irks me is the reply " I'm good" in place of "no thank you." I always then reply "oh, I heard you were just better than nothing."

The reply to " how are you?"...." I'm good " Really irks me. I always want to reply... " So what is it that you're good at ?" But possibly worse the increasing use of people writing " I could have...." Actually increasingly written as " I could of...."
It happens through lack of careful pronunciation since it's how people hear it said !

Another one: "I could care less." Think about it. I have never understood that one I lived in the States on and off for over 30 years and the first time I heard someone say " I could care less", I thought my ears were playing tricks. Then I increasingly heard it and for the life of me I can't think how it came into common parlance! I once tried to explain to someone what was wrong and I really don't think the double negative meant anything to them!

Another one: "I could care less." Think about it. That one gets me too. And, like you say, people DON'T think about the illogical nature of the phrase and the fact that it should be 'i couldn't care less. Anyway, it's not a bit deal... I could care less. You DO know you're all giving me ammo to use against you in future posts? I mean, push back here people, but these irksome phrases need to be capitalised on. You've gotta own it, don't you? I am literally cracking up here. Am I going to stop? Absolutely! I'm good now...

Look, JimInks is #1 and the rest of us are #2. As for as "no problem" I use it when someone thanks me for something I didn't do, didn't do for them, or didn't really want to do. It's a white lie. So sue me.
