OGS in a BBB Thornycroft pot. I got this pipe several years ago from Shiney Pipes. It was only about $30.00 and is one of my best smoking pipes. AJ

Good morning, you all. First smoke of this, again sunny and humid, Wednesday; McConnell's 'Pure Orient' in a Nomen Nescio de Luxe made in London England, bought at W.Ø. Larsen in the eighties. A large cuppa within reach. I'm going for this gastroscopy at noon and I can't eat anything 6 hours before, but I can drink a little water until 2 hours before, so I'm imbibing tea till it runs out my ears.

It looks extremely dense, any way you can find out what the blend is made from, what types of tobacco’s and how it was cased/topped? Just so happens that AJ and I were discussing rope tobacco’s from the Dominican Republic and Brazil. Both countries have some outstanding rope tobacco’s to choose from. When I was in Brazil a number of years ago a local B&M had ropes that were wound on huge wooden spools, many different diameters ( from 1” to 4” ) to choose from as well as the many types of high grade leaf that was used in the process. One of the Brazilian ropes I smoked “ literally “ knocked me on my a$$, but it was enjoyable if sipped. When you smoke a bowl or three see what tastes your palate picks up as well as the aroma. Might be one of those ropes in which if your sitting down don’t stand up quickly.....you could fall over!!! I will be in the DR hopefully this winter. Wish I knew how to get my hands on some of the local blends.
