I have a food challenge with no takers so far: Drink a quart of black coffee and eat a pound of black licorice. I believe the outcome would be dramatic and frightening.

If I could afford the good German Licorice I used to get I,d take that bet.I drink coffee like a fish and LOVE Black Licorice. Alas, this morn it's black coffee and potato chips (redneck fried potatoes)

A pound of licorice would cause a serious side effect. Licorice contains a compound that will dampen the male libido. A whole pound is tantamount to going on birth control pills.

Oh $hit, so that’s my problem!!! Now I can blame it on all the good English licorice I devoured in my lifetime!

I love black licorice but I'm a diabetic so I'm out on that one. For breakfast I plan on having some of the brisket I smoked on a ciabatta roll, french press coffee, a handful of vitamins, and a Perdomo shade-grown Toro

The standard breakfast here is two eggs fried in corrals, two link sausage, home fried tater's (I keep a pot of par cooked Reds on hand). Sometimes mushrooms or a slice of tomato is added to the iron skillet. Variation tomorrow will be smoked pork chop instead of sausage. Ham is also a frequent variant. Bacon, the thick cut variety, sometimes but too much grease. I have enough bacon grease in the refer ready for the skillet.
My favorite breakfast is a T-bone with two eggs and hashbrowns. IHOP does a nice job of putting that together at a reasonable price
When I lived in the UK, it was "The Full English": Fried egg, sausage, bacon, Black Pudding, tomato, mushrooms, cool toast in the rack with marmalade and a large pot of tea. Sometimes, Kippers or smoked salmon was on hand. That is one meal they have down!
Smoked salmon with cream cheese and a slice of red onion on a bagel is a treat. Sadly, no one in these parts knows how a bagel is made.
Omlettes are a nice change. I make the Spanish "Tortilla" with potatoes and artichoke hearts. That is a flat omlette, flipped using a plate. Of course, folded mushroom or Denver Omlettes are also enjoyed.

I had to fast and do lab work this morning for my annual physical, needless to say, I was hungry as a bear when I got home...I have a lot to do before I catch a flight today. Roasted red pepper with garlic sausage, eggs, and hash browns...simple but effective.

Roasted red pepper with garlic sausage, eggs, and hash browns...simple but effective. Here in New Mexico, all that would be dumped into a giant flour tortilla, topped with salsa and rolled into a log burrito. Personally, I find that excessive but what do I know? Looks good just the way you prepared it.

More often than not, that is how we roll also...with some Pico De Gallo. The hashbrowns were frozen ones the wife bought. Frankly, I like the dehydrated ones from Costco for a quick breakfast, and for camping, they can't be beat, they come in a case: When I was in foodservice distribution, a large swath of the cafe/ breakfast restaurants used this product by Golden Grill...if done right which is easy, they are very non greasy and have really good flavor and texture...just never add salt...pepper ok, but not salt, you will be sorry.
