Escudo has had the STG label for a long time, for me it does not smoke well fresh, it bites my 👅 tongue 👅. Everyone’s palate is different, I much prefer Escudo with 5 years of aging. Much richer and more complex smoke, but everyone has different likes and dislikes 👌👍

Yeah ... that 14 year old crap in my picture sucks! I too prefer Escudo on the dark side.....enjoy your 14 year aged Navy rolls 👌👍 I think it’s the young fresh Perique that bites my tongue.

The meme that tobacco falls apart with age is a great selling point. While probably true in some cases, just as likely not in others.

Yeah ... that 14 year old crap in my picture sucks! Levine went out of his way to say that it is all good, just a preferential thing for him. I have more years in the rear view mirror than I do out of the windshield, so the prospect of 7 years aging is appealing.

Yeah ... that 14 year old crap in my picture sucks! Sorry, I was basing my statements on the STG blend. Cope, Gallagher and A & C are a different animal when it comes to aging. I wasn't paying attention to the Perique in my limited samples but I recall how smooth and sweet it was. Better send me some to refresh my memory so that I can rectify my statements.

LOL ... you know I was just razzin' you guys! If that A&C Peterson Escudo doesn't agree with your palate, feel free to pass it on to me, no charge.

I have two tins of it (they now hold screws, not baccy!) that I bought back in the mid '70s and there is nothing about "14 years..." on them so I don't know where that came from!

LOL ... you know I was just razzin' you guys! Not buying it! You can get back in our good graces by chasing down some vintage A&C to make it right! Lol.... I was window shopping at Pipestud tin consignments the other day, the prices that some of the vintage tins command, can take your breath away. I can only imagine what Peck’s cellar will bring in the future should he ever bring them to market.

LOL ... I'll see what I can find! Unless something drastic happens, I intend to smoke all of my vintage stuff ... no reselling for this pipe guy.

I wish I had the palate that can really wring out all the nuances of fine aged tobacco, so at least for me I am content with getting a few years age and calling it good.
I gotta say though, the Edgeworth high grade slices that I obtained for chump change, it was exquisite.... But I think that blend would give me the same reaction five minutes after running!
