Also, has anyone here tried C&D's "Good Morning"? Supposed to be their match of EMP. I haven't seen this question answered in this thread, yet. Yes. C&D Good Morning and EMP are extremely close matches. A while ago, danno44 and I exchanged 18 month old samples of each. I provided the Good Morning and he provided the EMP. End result of our side-by-side comparison of similarly aged tobacco was that they are extremely close to each other in taste. I preferred Good Morning and he preferred EMP. Each of our preferences was made for the same reason. I could detect an ashy, papery taste at the end of a bowl of EMP but not Good Morning. danno44 had the exact opposite experience. He detected an ashy, papery taste at the end of a bowl of Good Morning but not EMP. Based on my personal experience with Good Morning, I recommend aging it for a minimum of 1 year. Back when I first tried it, I had opened a tin with only 3 months of age and it didn't grab me. I pulled the jar out every couple of months to try it again. Finally, after 12 months, I found that I really liked the blend. Enough to cellar up 24 tins for aging. C&D almost never fails to turn out a quality product. I may take some heat for this, but they're as good as McClelland's was in my mind. Jeremy is one of the best blenders around and an amazing person. So it does not surprise me that they would make a match that is actually pretty good. Sutliff makes some great tobaccos, So I don't know what happened with the Nightcap match. Their 965 match, however, is actually quite good. It sounds like you and danno44 may have different batches (not sure). Thanks heaps for this!

I wonder when the last blend of Good Morning went out, actually. It may be actually aged a year already. I am also trying to figure out if its available in bulk. It doesn't seem so.
