Simple as that,What language did you learn from your parents. For most of us here,I imagine it is American English. I make that distinction because there are quite a few disparities among the English speaking countries .There are also differences as you travel across the states.East to West and North to South. And Please,Ebonics doesn't count.

Anyone who says Latin has to buy the next round.

Let's see, born in Southern California in the early 1950', it was your basic American English. However, there are other languages that I've learned too. They are, Canadian English, British English, Scottish, Irish, and a little BS I don't speak Jive though

French, both Grandparents had trouble with English, English, some Mexican mostly cussing when Dad took us to Brownsville Texas with the Shrimping fleet. I learned Cajun, Cussing, Mexican fussing and American Slang, which was a beautiful thing to hear, Mom didn't like it , but it tickled Dad.

Very slightly Minnesotan. I work with a lot of guys who speak what I call woodtick. It's a sort of backwoods Pollock/Yooper sounding.

ALL forms of English and enough Maltese and Russian to get by👍 Most people “ think “ because The Island of Malta is so close to Sicily that the Maltese language would be similar to Italian. Nope, not even close! The Maltese language is very similar to the Arabic language, but the writing and reading of both languages are completely different, go figure!!

English, although the evil Catholic church who originally brainwashed me, tried forcing that dead language of Latin down me. Luckily I forgot every single word.

English... I started trucking in 1980, so I picked up on CB Slanguage...when I key the mic, and talk most of the current generation of truck drivers don't get it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_CB_slangMy vocabulary is much more extensive than that...fer instance, I don't see: Motion Lotion= Diesel Fuel.

Was bi lingual early in my life. My father was from Quebec and my mother is from Scotland! Learned my English from my mother with a Scottish accent with a twang as we lived in Texas and my French ( Canadienne French) from my father as he and my mother spoke it I had to learn to speak French as when we went to visit my father's family in Canada, French was all they spoke ! I took French in High School thinking I could have an easy course and ended up quitting the class as it was not the French I spoke ( also because my teacher told me I didn't speak French ! )

Having always lived in the Southeast I was taught proper American English but working in the State Prison System for ten years and being in contact with inmates on a daily basis ruined the diction and my ability to speak correctly. Inmate slang now peppers any conversation I get involved with. So no signifying or profiling. 😉

CoalCracker with a bit of White Ruso, Ukranian, Polish and Lithuanian. Understand one, you understand them all. My grandfather taught me some and how to curse a streak in Slav as a young boy.

There was a two year foreign language requirement at my alma mater. I was shocked to find this out or I may not have chosen it. I tried French but that side of my brain is weak. I'm a numbers guy. I discovered Latin, a dead language with no meaning whatsoever - Perfect! I aced all four semesters which greatly inflated my overall GPA; furthermore, I learned more about English, a Germanic language, studying the mother of all Romantic languages than I ever could spending time with the former. After learning to put together sentence constructs in Latin, English was minor league which served me well throughout my professional career. Reckon the next round is on me. That's Kentuckian y'all.

Plain old English with an occasional southern Louisiana accent. Grew up in Houston which is so cosmopolitan that thick accents don't tend to last. I can speak east Texan, west Texan, a little coona$$, and very little Spanish.
