I was browsing around smokingpipes.com and noticed that the Dunhill Dark Flake and Navy Rolls are out of stock. Last I heard, all production of Dunhill tobaccos had stopped and what was left in stock is it. This coming up payday I plan on making a large Dunhill order of my favorite blends.

BTW Dunhill tobaccos cease production in December of this year. I believe production already ended in December of 2017. Distribution continues until the supply runs out later this year.

I've got more than I'll ever smoke, but I'll probably grab a few more tins.

The Danish Pipe Shop wrote in their January newsmail, that they have a huge supply in stock, so "...no reason to panic ...yet".
As of right now, they still have all 18 in stock.

I believe he is suffering from an incurable disorder. As many do, it seems. If they didn't, there'd be more tobacco to go round for more smokers.

I believe he is suffering from an incurable disorder. He’s seeing a doctor today to get vaccinated, he was diagnosed with Dunhillitise, a rare disease that can be treated without any chance of fornicating side effects😜😂😂

This is a bigger deal than the loss of some other brands. End of an era.

You may fish...but I won't bite. Dunhill is a World Wide brand. It's hard to compare the 2.

Yeah, I would agree - as far branding, name recognition, and perception of a "classic" brand, Dunhill is more high profile, and symbolic in a way. But... for the actual contents in the tins, I don't think it's as major of a loss for pipe smokers. IMHO, of course.

I heard that they pulled the tobacco off the market because Clive Dunhill was the only family member that smoked it.... the guy is quite the rascal, and regularly pisses off everyone in the family.

There are excellent very close matches or very similar blends available from other producers for the major Dunhill blends. McC had a unique production process which no one has ever produced a real match blend for. So, good matches available versus gone, gone, gone... Yup, McC is much more major loss. Let the eggs start flying... I need some more for frying.

How many times has Dunhill Tobacco ceased production? How many times has Dunhill Tobacco come back into production? Something to Ponder!

I agree with John's McClelland assessment. I mourn neither the tobacco nor the eventual pipes passing. Their entire snob aesthetic has never set well with me.

Hopefully after the Syrian. Mcclelland, Dunhill passing has finally ended, the frenzy will go away.

That changes everything. I reckon it'll be a while after dunhill is sold out in USA that stock starts to deplete in the UK. From my vague understanding based on half-forgotten forum posts, Dunhill stopped making Dunhill in the early 80s. They were then made by Murray in Belfast, and supposedly went downhill. Then I guess the brand had a hiatus and came back in the 90s, made by Orlik. Some say an improvement over Murrays, some say not. I'm sure there's a lot more to the story than that.... One criticism I read about the Orlik era was that while the original Dunhill Latakia recipes specified Dubec, Samsun, Smyrna or whatever, Orlik just used some generic "Oriental" leaf for everything.
