A dash of Vermouth & lemonade in a long stemmed cup with ice to go with my Parker Rhodesian & 12 American aromatic mix....TG, just finished listening to another Gunsmoke radio episode, the alternative was a BBC Radio 4 drama , European arty chick literatti stuff, it was a no brainer folks. I have fallen out with European literature it is to exclusively anti working engineer types like me, an online Newspaper international literature group turned on me like rats for my engineer workers perspective on English literature, I did time at University in English literature as well for my sins. The only books I read now in print are the Gospel and related stuff , and listen to some related audiobooks . Except for the professional & amateur engineering magazines & "bibles" in print and e- format.

Thanks for your kind support Baboo, but some would say being anecdotal on social media is more akin to reality tv, and just as obnoxious to most types, but I just get on with it , and bless my critics with every blessing that their God or Philosopher can give them....after all life is like a bowl of tobacco & is to short to bear grudges, as Forrest Grump would have said if I had written the script

Ever had one of those days you were sorry you got out of bed etc....been meddling in politics online etc...bad phone calls to " friends" , bad business calls...etc. In my " cell" ...etc First smoke of the day & it is getting dark, it is a pleasure to chew on my Slav Folk pipe with the wooden mouthpiece and such an agreeable blend as Uncle Tom's. It is times like this I cling to a crucifix, no holy book is any good. But after a pipe and I might try a tot of Rum the sailors wonder in the doldrums, things will pick up tomorrow. I feel as musical as a slug or a homeless snail tonight

Walked Pop in the twilight by the newish from about the 70's , " Midwest" tv pool bar and cars, young studs and their lasses , coming out after their revelry , young wannabe and his chick, having a laugh, strolling by , cars cursing the new 20 mph speed limit in their crazy rush. Pop has never been good on the lead when I adopted him as a four old castrated unwanted problem dog, he fights with me every step of the way , and he attacks big noisy vehicles, he is a target for all the little yappy toy dog terriers . Listening to Gunsmoke , the new young gangs from bad quarters, going for gun lawlessness , what is fact & what fiction, " sticks & stones will break my bones but words will never harm me " an old saying of Mum. Have a tot of Rum and second pipe of Blakemar yet to be filled..some people swear by talking to their dogs or parrots & some people talk to their plants or TV , I talk to myself on online forums. But I am open to Parlez...irritated by this badly behaved IPad.

BWI's Sweet Tea in an MM Mark Twain bent stem. Am no fan of aromatics but for some reason I had to try this one. Turns out I am quite fond of it. Does indeed taste like Southern sweet tea but the tobacco is alway present. Seems to me that the Orientals and Virginias are quite easy to identify in each puff.

Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding in a dark brown rusticated Don Carlos stack bulldog for lack of a better description at the moment, drinking A&W Root Beer 10. Close to finishing my first tin. This is pretty good smoke but I probably won't buy anymore. It contains most of the same ingredients as G.L. Pease Quiet Nights but just doesn't shine for me the way that one does. Sometimes one simply hits the right niche.

With all respect to your wide experience of tobacco & pipes, Jim , I never cease to be amused by some of the names of your blends, as regular as my pocket watches I read your review, interesting, Jim , but in my limited experience of flakes I prefer to roll them for a long smoke flakes keep the moisture and oiliness well, I have only tried one plug as of yet , Warrior plug , & they are they way ahead for traditional smokes they can be cut and rolled at leisure , and keep their moisture & oiliness for longer than flakes , early days for my pipe hobby adventures yet, after the bread & butter pipe & cigar years. But plugs have almost died out . I imagine , they were the historical form of trading pipe tobacco , practical for sailors & soldiers in their travels & frontiersmen in the West. I definitely favour plugs.
