With all respect to your wide experience of tobacco & pipes, Jim , I never cease to be amused by some of the names of your blends, as regular as my pocket watches I read your review, interesting, Jim , but in my limited experience of flakes I prefer to roll them for a long smoke flakes keep the moisture and oiliness well, I have only tried one plug as of yet , Warrior plug , & they are they way ahead for traditional smokes they can be cut and rolled at leisure , and keep their moisture & oiliness for longer than flakes , early days for my pipe hobby adventures yet, after the bread & butter pipe & cigar years. But plugs have almost died out . I imagine , they were the historical form of trading pipe tobacco , practical for sailors & soldiers in their travels & frontiersmen in the West. I definitely favour plugs. I like plugs, too. I also like having the option of how to prepare them, which varies according to my mood. I seldom make cannon balls out of them though.

Puffing on my Parker Rhodesian on my third tot of rum, usually only have one glass of sipping spirits not every night, I am new to the spirit hobby as well as the pipe hobby, after a lifetime of social beer drinking. Listening to the BBC world service about the thousands of disappeared in Mexico , and a particular journalist who published his independent newspaper only to be brutally killed, his son is giving his testimony keeping up his father's work, the irony of the media and democracy ....he brought awe to my heart, by his courage, but in the light of South American freedom fighters, a forlorn hope. Apocolypto & Apocalypse Now, Play ball with the jocks or be sacrificed is the modern mantra . No hope in heaven or earth for Lazarus....damned voodoo poo...

Late evening reverie with Cohiba White club cigar & MM Country Gentleman, listening to BBC World Service, apologies ladies & gentleman, for trespassing into politics & religion, as a Theologian & a member of a political party, it is hard, it is my bread & drink, but I appreciate the wisdom and rules of the forum.
