I’m a returning pipe smoker after a 30+ year hiatus in the cigar world. I recently pulled out my now “vintage” pipes after becoming intrigued reading a sub-forum of a wet shaving forum. I purchased a tin of SPC Potlatch and have fallen down the rabbit hole of tobacco AD; so many more choices than 30 years ago! I’m looking forward to the journey.

I live about 70 miles from Dodge City both now and in my younger days. I more than likely crossed paths with Joe in that shop. I'm in and out of Wichita frequently and shop at the Cigar Chateau on north Rock. In another of life's little ironies; several months ago I was buying a few road cigars for my four hour trip home. A young guy was buy several hundred dollars in tinned tobacco. While it seemed unusual, I didn't realize the significance. Either he or the clerk mentioned something about a brand going out of business. After I took back up the pipe, I confirmed on my next visit that he was buying up their remaining McClelland stock. If only I would have known...
