Hello, folks. I'm broadcasting out of New York City. I'm told we make very fine salsas.
I, like several other recent joiners, fled a failed attempt to create a pipe forum. Politics got in the way. That's strictly off-limits here, and that's what I'm hunting for.
I started smoking a pipe many years ago, as a broke college student. A pipe was the perfect length for my walk to work, and a pipe-full cost less than a $0.50 cigar. A cob and a tin of Dark Twist was enough for me up until 2017. I found a local pipe store that I actually enjoyed visiting, dabbled in the local pipe club, and started trying everything I could lay hands on.
Now my tastes are changing and I want to talk to other people about stuff.
. Ever get stopped by the cops?

That is just insane...if he is paying taxes to that degree, the patient will be the one that pays it...there is no free lunch. There's no escape, really. If you move from the suburbs into the city, you escape property tax, but they charge you 4% personal income tax, and then another 4% for "unincorporated business tax"
It's a lose/lose. You get used to that kind of thing in the New York metro area I was looking at homes in upstate NY. Beautiful homes. Great prices. Outrageous property taxes. A 7k sqf house with a wine cellar and beautiful basement for 200k. With 50k per year in property taxes plus something called "village fees". Insane. I can't believe anyone would sign up to put an albatross around their neck like that . Crazzzzy
