crapgame has put a lot of work into this, with many calls and emails. As others have said, and to put it out publicly... THANK YOU.

I hate to be a doubter but I'm having trouble visualizing a cob as a Bing.
The problem for me is the thin shank. Even though they are using a hardwood the thinner the material gets the weaker it gets. So the length of the shaft with the thickness of the shaft add the weight of the bowl and the stem. In my mind the shaft is a weak link. The only way to strengthen it would be by adding a tube to the shaft.
The above is the result of spending time and effort fixing broken stuff.

I think tube in the shaft is a great idea. Will we see a prototype before final ordering?

I will participate as well. I am hoping to be able to get a pipe and 1 of each of the tobacco blends.

If JimInks gets one I will get one. If he doesn't I still will get one.
Didn't do one last year because it was a cob. The bing shape is something I have never had so you got me this year on the shape not the cob. I use cobs for work pipes and only have one that ever made it inside the house. Hopefully this one will make two inside the house.

The shank on the MacArthur is plenty long. MM has made a ton of those with no issues. Can't imagine a Bing would present any new challenges.

I am one of the "no" votes. However, that is because I rarely buy a PotY. I have opportunities to buy at least 5 or 6 various PotYs from various groups every year. I only consider it if a pipe is chosen that calls to me and that rarely happens.

How about a bulldog or rhodesian cob? Or an author? With original MM pipe holder? That would be worth $50 A bulldog cob would be amazing
