Ok gang i am lookimg to see how many folks will be interested in TBP 2018 PoTY. I am working with Dan Nemets and Phil Morgan at MM right now for our pipe. This year's pipe is going to be an exclusive to us "BING" pipe. This year i am also going to work with Jack Peterson at Sterling Tobacco to come up with 3 TBP blends of the year. One will be an aromatic, one some type of English/Balken/Lat blend and one type of natural blend, all that will exclusive to us as well. I just need to get a feel for the number of pipes we may want to let Phil know before we give an accurate number on the order. The prototype is going to ready on or near sept 21.There will also be some other goodies with the pipe from MM as well but those are yet to be determined

I would be in but I'm sure the shipping to UK would be steep. Count me in anyway.

Mike please define a natural blend. Are you saying a non-aromatic such as a Va/Per, Va/Bur, Va/Bur/Per, etc:.
Also do you have an idea of the price point at this time?

I’d be in for the pipe and I’m interested to hear more about the blends when they’re worked out.

Yes John, thats exactly what it will be. Not sure if it will be a va/per ..va/ bur.. but it will not be an aro nor a lat type blend.

I don't want to whiz on anybody's Wheaties but I voted NO. While I greatly appreciate the hard work and effort being put forward in this enterprise, I cannot see the benefit to my own collection. If a percentage goes towards site maintenance, I'd man up and change my vote. Just a suggestion for future consideration. We should set our sites higher - Something like this: www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/it-s-here-b-b-bl-2012-le-pipe-closed.274712/As a disclaimer - I was never a member of this forum; however, I do have #3 of 28 produced in unsmoked condition via EBay.

I’m in, if it’s under $60.00...which it should be👍👍. I don’t care about the tobacco, just want a well made MM Pipe with a good acrylic stem....not the cheap stems MM pipes usually come with.

Plus a Vulcanite stem would work well 👍

A cheaper, well made, unfinished briar pipe with blend of your choice for around $60 sounds ideal. But, maybe that's shooting for the stars, price wise.

How about a bulldog or rhodesian cob? Or an author? With original MM pipe holder? That would be worth $50

Mark, Thee Briar Patch will benefit from the sale of each pipe. Not a lot but it'll help keep the lights on. We're going the cob route again because the very positive experience we had working with the people at Missouri Meerschaum and because we wanted to have something that won't put a huge dent in people's pocketbooks. At some point if there is enough interest in a briar club edition we would certainly consider it. I don't think it would have to necessarily be a POY but the interest would have to be high enough to make it worthwhile for the pipe maker. Good suggestion that we'll follow up on in the future.

The most expensive Morgan Bones Series pipe cost $39.99. How much more could it possibly cost for 2018 Patch POTY. They are crafted well for the price and great smokers👌👍

Just for clarification, The PoTY is coming from MM.. The tobacco blends are coming from Sterling Tobacco. The member will order the number of pipes they want from MM VIA a special TBP PoTY Link that will be provided to us. I am in the process of working out the same kind of set up with Jack Peterson for the tobacco blends.. The pipes and tobacco will come directly to you and shipped as you order them, that way yo can you pipe and tobacco without the delay of waiting for others to place their orders.
I hope this helps clear things up a bit.
Mike
