...my daily carry is a .380, but I really enjoy shooting my Kimber .45... You’ve seen pictures of my daily carry.....also my carry today while out, Sig Sauer P-238. Much more of a muzzle lift then any of my 1911’s. I much prefer a 380 with Hornady Critical Defense rounds over my 9 mm. I carry HOT, hammer down, safely on. Some carry HOT with hammer back....not me! I carry hot, hammer back with my 1911's and the Glock is always ready to go with a 4lb trigger pull. My Glock 23 which is my IDPA race gun breaks at 1.8lbs with a 1/16in reset and my custom Ruger Mark II which is my Steel Challenge gun breaks at just over a lb.

All in one motion because I cross draw my hammer is pulled back and my safety is off. I prefer my trigger pull between 2.5 to 4 lb. If I’m in competition my trigger will be @ 1.2 lbs. .

...and I always have one in the chamber... That’s carrying HOT, if you don’t carry hot I tell many others.....why are you carrying a semi auto.....get yourself a revolver 👍 I carry a revolver mostly because I keep it if the truck. It has the Critical Defense 44 Spl 165 grains in it right now, which is a really wimpy load. The Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel was a much better load when I could get it. Why am I posting this in a thread about how many pipes we own? We could use a little bit of self discipline around here.

Maybe because some of us own more guns than pipes--and that thought immediately came to mind. I own 15 pipes. I used to own more guns than this until they were all lost in the unfortunate boating accident. And you 1911 owners--it's called condition one--one in the chamber, hammer back, safety on. That's how John Browning designed the thing to be carried. I consider anything else to be dangerous at worst, inefficient at best. (Just my 2 cents' worth). Oh--and the gospel according to John specifies 7 round magazines only. Seriously.....

Oh--and the gospel according to John specifies 7 round magazines only. Seriously..... Good point. I also have way more guns than I need. Agreed on Condition One. If you are going to carry a 1911 for self defense, there's only one right way to do it. If your weapon isn't safe to carry in this manner, it's either because of the operator or someone has screwed around with it to lighten the trigger, and it's now a target pistol instead of a weapon.

AND--even in this case--should the sear give way and allow the hammer to drop, it will be stopped by the half-rooster notch and will not strike the firing pin.

That's funny. The software here changed c**k to "rooster."

Oddly enough, most of my pipes were bought in the late 1970s. Just within the last year I decided to clean them up and put them to use. I have only bought 4 pipes in the last year. I think I have enough....

15 Briars 9 Cobs 1 Ozark hardwood 1 Meer
I never use my Meer, and I haven't tried the Ozark hardwood yet. One briar is an estate that I haven't cleaned up yet, so I haven't smoked that either.

When I started back into pipe smoking in July after a 30+ year absence, I had my three old briars and a meerschaum that I recovered from my son whose dog had chewed up the bit. The meerschaum I carved myself from a kit my wife gave me for Christmas several decades ago. I’ve added a Stanwell and three MM cobs, so I’m at eight. I replaced the stem in the meerschaum and it is back in service, a nice smoking pipe. I do have a nice pipe in the works; this year’s Badger & Blade LE being made by Paul Hubbart of Larrysson pipes. I’m looking forward to my first upscale (for me) pipe.

There's no such thing as to many guns or pipes. IMO I have over a dozen pipes.

I bet this has been asked, but maybe it's time for a fresh ask. How many pipes do you own? I promise I won't tell your spouse! I'm on the low end of the spectrum, I feel. I have ten pipes. I'm always looking for new ones, but I'm satisfied with the ones I have. You? Seven

Tremendous amounts of fun! Most people say that my IDPA Glock 23 is the fastest gun they have ever shot. Rails and triggers, I do most all my own triggers and I'm not opposed to anyone hanging a flashlight on the front of their guns its just not for me because I like to keep my night vision and I don't want the offender getting a look at my adonis (spelling) like body while I'm in my drawers
