If you like classic cars then you must checkout the Goodwood festival of speed. 100% real vintage race cars. Ferrari, Jaguar, Aston Martin, AC Cobra’s going toe to toe on circuit track.

Nice, thanks for posting. I was an Admin of a Hot Rod/Classic car forum for just over 7 years. In the mid 90’s I restored a ‘68 Pontiac Firebird...a 3 year project. It was a beauty and really to fast for the street. Once I became ill in 2011 the car was sold. I’ve posted pictures prior on other forums. Won a few trophies 👍👍👍 If this thread stays hot, I will look on a few of my cloud services for pictures. Or once I get back to Clayton I definitely have a few to post on my server.

Ted, I’d love to see your old Pontiac. Old muscle and British roadsters are another obsession of mine, besides pipes.
My father and I built a few projects years ago.

C'mon Ted post the dirty bird pic's Later I will look on my cloud services, if not on any of them I have plenty on my server and back up drives back in Clayton. Right now I’m still in Knightdale, NC. A lot of appointments coming up within 2 weeks!! I’ll look for this thread once I find some pictures. It was an eye catcher, had no problem selling the car for my asking price. I even changed the ported intake manifold system that Pontiac was known for and went with an Edelbrock intake manifold known as the Performer. First I attempted a tri- pack carb system....issues keeping them synced. Finally went with the Holly 850 double pump. The car ran best with 116 octane fuel, which was sold a few miles from where I lived on Long Island. The car averaged just over 9 mpg, if I “ got on it “ roughly 3 mpg!!! B&M shift kit, B&M transmission cooler & MSD ignition system, which was popular in the late 90’s. I even did the custom paint work, which took just over 3 months to complete. The two rear windows I had an artist do the etching of a Coyote in the glass on both sides. I did the painting of the Coyote on the hood.

I would have loved to have your Coyote meet my 69 Roadrunner. I built the 383 up to about 450hp, crane cam and kit, 750 double pumper, hooker headers, .391 posi, 2700 rpm stall converter. It was fairly quick. Then one day I went to the speed shop to get some parts with a friend, and we started joking around about getting a Hemi. Guy behind the counter said that the machine shop down the street had a 426 street Hemi that he had balanced and blueprinted that the owner never picked up and he just wanted his money for his work out of it. So for $650 I had a really big engine. I had some friends who ran a rail and a funny car who I went to for advice. They first offered me a 671 blower with the 8 stack Hilborn injectors. I balked at that. They fixed me up with a Nascar intake and assorted parts. I got 2 matching AFB carburetors off of the 525ci Cadillac engine, and a Dodge Nascar mechanic set them up for the job. Special, one off Isky cam and kit, double helical valve springs. Another set of hooker headers. 489 posi, summers bros axles and engine mounts. 3200rpm stall, 727 with Hemi guts and reversed shift body. Dynoed at 625hp at the wheels. With the slicks it would pull the wheels about 6" on concrete. 10.92 sec. Trophies mostly because no one else was running in A/Gas/Auto. This was before everyone started doing the bracket racing thing. I sold it in 75 for $850 because I needed the money and it needed a fuel pump that I couldn't afford because the wife saw that I had wasted enough money on it.

Anybody remember the 58 MGs. Cat like lines...they were some beautiful cars. I can remember when a friend who had a beetle, swapped out the engine from his brothers Porsche. Brother got back from the Army and wondered why his Porsche just didn't have the get up and go that it used to have...boy was he pissed when he found out what little brother had done. Needless to say the beetle was a moving machine.

My uncle had one and preferred it to the Triumph TR-3 which was faster in his estimation but not as well balanced. Just repeating what he said. As for me, I had an Austin-Healy 100-6, bored out to about 3 liters. Triple SUs.

The car had bad electrical problems that I wanted to fix first and several mechanics couldn't do it. The dealer called me and they really needed the engine back and I made a small profit without ever opening the crate. Sure would have been a fun car, though. I remember that I paid $1428 for the engine. It probably would have appreciated like gold by now.

Yes, I do this, but I only collect the little ones because I don't have the money for the big ones. Its been a hobby of mine since I was a boy. This is just a small part of my collection... I just like to look at them. Sometimes I just sit and stare at them for hours. If I concentrate really hard and meditate on a car and conceptualise it in my head and everything I can drive them.... I'll be speeding along Route 66 in the '71 Porshe 911. Or sitting in a drive in, enjoying a movie with popcorn, in my '55 Corvette. Saves me a lot of money!

Learned how to drive on one like this in Black, big bulldick starter, had to stand up to see over the dash, Grampaw had a Stake body and wasn't lowered. Loved that Ford.

F Nice Ford!
Really sweet.
My first truck was a '48 Ford F1.
Since we are on about trucks, here is my dream and the most beautiful ever made, IMHO.

Had 2 Karmann Ghias' once...1 hardtop 1 convertible...the hard top had a reworked engine...22 mil sway bars front and 24 mil. in the rear..clocked by a state trooper in Va. at over 100mph. Cop said, that couldn't be right...it was only a VW. Took the bumpers off had those little sticks for bumper. tubo driven engine with dual carbs...thing would fly...ah, the good old days.
Beautiful muscle cars. loved them.
Friend from Cuba..Batista's son. Had an Alfa..had 2 machine guns mounted in the hood. He never had any problems when he took it out.
