I used to want to Bentley Speed Six, until I saw how primitive they were. A real stripped down race car. I still want a Duesenberg and an Auburn.

… always wanted one of these...a '36 Packard Sedan...
That DOES look good. I'd see a lot of cars like that used for weddings.

A guy in our area has a 1934 Phantom III that he rents out for weddings. It's white, and not a very good paint job. It would be called a survivor rather than a collector car. Still rather nice. The engine sounds like a Briggs and Stratton.

Haven't seen a Duesenberg in a very long time...used to see them at auto shows down in Miami. My father had a '36 Cord which had an electric shift and a Lycoming aircraft engine in the "bonnet". Chrome tail pipes coming out of the hood on the sides...much like the ones Buick had on some later models (Buick's were fake..just chrome accouterments).

Dad had a 48 Packard, was welding for Chicago Bridge and Iron in Oklahoma when he bet a local Indian he couldn’t piss on motor from the sidewalk, last was seen of Indian he was hopping fast holding his junk, Dad had started the car before the Golden Shower..,! My dad had one like that 'cept it was a two door hardtop and was black. He drove that car for 10 years before it got a cracked block. They were straight 8 cylinders as I remember. Tons of room in the back seat also ! !

That is a beauty. Top-down and wearing a double-breasted chalk stripe Suit. Shaggy Borsalino hat.

With the top down, means the weather is warm so I'd be wearing a double breasted white linen suit with a Montecristi panama hat !

The exact car my Dad purchased the year I was born, he often spoke on how well this car handled on the road. Maybe that’s why he owned a few New Yorkers & Imperials in his lifetime. The 1951 Chrysler Windsor Deluxe Convertible Coupe

I have a hankering for an early 50's Chevy. Been watching the local adds. I could really enjoy a car like this. Maybe put a crate 350 and disc brakes into it.

I have spent many hours working on my friends 47 coupe with a 350. It was the original rat rod, rust and red primer. Rusted out floorboards, etc. It was dependable transportation though. Except for when the hood latch would come loose over 90. That was true excitement.

Reading this thread is like going down memory lane for me. I'm not a car enthusiast, but I do like certain cars for certain reasons, and I've owned some cars I wished I had kept. But hindsight is 20/20 right? Living on a gravel road having a nice classic car makes little sense for me, but the other day a friend of mine who is certifiably a car and motorcycle nut, posted this pic on his page with no info. I have no idea what it is, thought it appears to be in the UK, all I know is I want it! It reeks of insanity and power. What's not to like?

If I ever get some kids raised, I'll own a '74 AMC Javelin. Both the Javelin and AMX would be a car I’d like to restore......something about the lines on both cars👍👍

1920S Blue Bird
Set a land speed record of 196 MPH in 1927.
Could also be a replica thereof.

I stopped back at Clayton to pick up some pipes and tobacco’s, plus a few other items. I looked through a few photo albums that were readily handy and not packed away. Below are a few pictures of the ‘68 Firebird I restored back in the mid 90’s. I have many more pictures of the interior, trunk and under the hood. From the pictures below you’ll get the gist of the complete restoration. Difficult to appreciate the color....base color is sable black “ imron paint “ ( a special mask was required when I did the paint work. Which took over 3 months ) with silver and gold metal flake mixed into the paint. I had to design the nozzle so the paint with the flakes first bounced off a steel plate I welded onto the nozzle. This helped spread the flakes properly while shooting the sides of the car. FIVE different inlay colors on both sides of the car over the sable black. The hood has a Coyote howling at the moon, which was done by an air-brush Artist. The two rear side windows have an “ frosted “ etched Coyote howling towards the moon. I was able to get the proper stickers that were placed in numerous areas of the car, plus many original parts I needed for a proper restoration, thanks to Bill’s Birds in Suffolk County, NY.
