Your participation here is appreciated... even if I have not been around enough to say it. I knew that and I thank you for saying that. It's just that I get very self conscious about being the main, and at times, virtually the only one posting. I honestly don't like that. I have a much greater interest in seeing what others smoke than I do my own smokes. I read every post in every thread of this kind on all the forums I am on because that is such a major interest of mine. Some times, I've wondered if my omnipresence inhibits others from posting here. I feel like I talking to myself much of the time. I know there's not much traffic here, but frankly, more can and should be post here, which is why I'm making a issue of it. This forum needs this thread to be more active, and I've done what I can to encourage the lurkers to jump in and be a part of it.

Yes, I agree Jim. I am somewhat to blame for that. My absence I'm sure had not helped. But... we are still a young fledgling forum. I have faith that time will help.

Evening all. I'd like to be more active but keeping up my home and trying to keep my job while settling my father's estate all at the same time is somewhat consuming at the moment. Two years to go until retirement, just have to tough things out right now and keep my eye on the prize.
Got the lawn all cleaned up this evening. Dry evenings have been rare this summer so I made the best of it, did all the little things. I had some McClelland #5100 in an MM Country Gent earlier while taking a break. Now enjoying Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake in a 2006 Mark Tinsky straight grain Mocha Rhodesian, 52/150 made, a night cap of Woodford Reserve before bed.

Full Virginia Plug in a Peterson Xmas 2015 brandy. Never tried FVF... anyone have an opinion on the differences? I can't make the comparison; however, I can say Full Virginia Flake is a must try. It ages beautifully, develops little white sugar crystals fairly quicker than others in my experience and takes on a different flavor after three years under glass. Its little cousin, Best Brown Flake, is a regular in my rotation, perhaps somewhat milder and more of an all day smoke IMHO. I have some three year old FVF kept in a flip top now. Granted, I generally prefer mine drier than most; nevertheless, I think the moisture content is almost perfect for most now. Shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to get a few flakes in an envelop headed your way.

I am glad to see that this has become more of a discussion and special interest information thread than it ever was before - much more interesting now than just a 5 word hit & run graffiti billboard for what's in our pipe. Kudos to oldtom a/k/a Motto (very diverse & high interest), JimInks (love hearing about Molly & Suzy), @andt, and others for amping up the interest level here. Helps to paint a good contextual picture depicting the conditions at which we enjoy our smokes, and also helps us to recognize each other with some familiarity on a more personal level from post to post. Should we ever meet in person, we will already have some familiar groundwork and commonality laid out making for a more comfortable face to face introduction. I hope to resume posting what's in my pipe when this Gdamn Burning Mouth Syndrome subsides (tastebuds are on the lamb again)... something medically systemic I think. Cheers friends!

Morning gents.
Hot one today. Seems the humidity is creeping back up as well. Should not complain though, the alternative is certainly not more attractive.
Working from home today, on the patio. Will call it quits after half day then off to the house to work on my next project... my workbench. Sure there will be a few expletives, but hopefully by the end of it I will have a place for my tools and for me to putz around.
Loaded up a Windjammer Bing with some Cube Cut & Cav. Enjoy your smokes, and your day.

It is good to parley if you have have the leisure , it is proves that there is life beyond the silicon, Baboo, but it is up & down at times when it is stormy , when you are alone on a lifeboat & allcomers are boarding. Enjoyed a few minutes in the company of Sue Dunhill on the YTPC, always brightens up my smoke. My HU order came in the Royal Mail, Great Dixter & bulk English Breakfast. Dixter is my favourite light smoke when I am sensitive to some bite, it is exquisite, the Breakfast looks meaty, not opened it yet, but it is more of a main meal for me these days on my fast or a Sunday meal even. Had a few whiffs of my mini cigar been busy but not got my shed / man cave / temple / factory assembled yet, need sand for the foundations ,time , time, time. It seems the HU blends use some African & Asian tobacco's which is interesting, but more anon, good folk, take time to breath & enjoy the smoke rings amidst the work friends.
