I, too, have a Yello-bole Canadian that is the perfect smoker. Nomenclature only has the usualYello-bole, kbb, imported briar but no #. It will take anything and make me smile. Got it along with a CAO Meer billiard the same day in a junk shop. The meer, the lady said was a "dirty brown wood pipe" that I could have both for $2.50. I grabbed both and ran throwing money at her. The top one.

Martin, that’s a gorgeous Freehand with a stunning straight grain. That pipe looks like it would preform perfectly 👍
Walt, nice Yello-Bole. My point is....you don’t have to spend a small fortune to have a superb smoking pipe!!
Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍

I have 5 pipes on Mike Myer’s workbench.... when they come back, I hope one of them will be “it”.
For now though, it would probably have to be my 1953 GBD Lovat.... it would be hard to let go.

GBDs from that era are fantastic smokers.

I enjoy the pipes I have at the moment but I'm not sure that any have slapped me in the face yet. Surely with more experience I will understand this feeling of bliss some of you feel from the perfect pipe. I can't wait

This medium-sized Hendon has come to be one of my favorite smokers. Got it on Ebay in a lot of pipes and didn't think much about it when I got it. Just picked it up one day and found out what a fine little pipe it is. It is particularly good with Condor, St. Bruno and Lakeland blends. One day I looked it up in my copy of "Who Made That Pipe?" and learned that it was made by either Sasieni or Comoy! It looks more like a Sasieni to me, so I'm giving it that honorable designation.

I think the pipe in my profile pic is the one that I wouldn't part with. It was bought in my 40th year and modified by me.
If I ever make my own pipe to the first one will be the one I'll never trade.

^^^Good sentiment, Paddy. If I ever made a pipe, which I couldn't do since I have no sense of proportion, that would be a pipe which I couldn't part with. Besides it would probably be a gurgler and burn hotter than hell.

For me it's two Edward's I got back in the early '70s. First is the first Edward's I bought in '71 a 713-L Apple. It's gone thru two stem replacements and is not a stunning piece of grain, but it smoke ANY .baccy I've ever put in it ! The next is a 720-L bent Bulldog I bought in '74 and like the Apple, it's gone thru a few stems but it to smokes ANY 'baccy I want ! I'm taking both of these with me when I go to that great B&M in the sky !

If I ever make my own pipe to the first one will be the one I'll never trade. I was about to say I'd gladly trade the first pipe I made for good poker, but now that I think about it, I'd feel bad. So, I'm going back on my first thought.

I'll have to steal the glamour shots of my RobE Olivewood Rhodesian taken before I smoked the perty into it. Its far and away my favorite pipe I smoked it at least 6 days a week for 9 months. I didnt smoke every bowl in it but I reached for it almost everyday. I had to ream the cake back after 8 months. It has a wide open draw and everything tastes exactly as it should in that pipe.. Everytime. New olive wood can be kinda bland, but it colors in a similar fashion to meerschaum only theres grain and swirls and pics to come soon enough its a great looking pipe.

The last pipe I picked up has been getting most of my attention as of late. Haven't had a bad smoke yet out of it, and its simple style suits me just fine imgur.com/gallery/ZvvEyA7

I've been gifted some wonderful pipes by people here. I would never try to judge any one of them, as they all smoke well and are all in regular rotation.
Not the prettiest pipe I have, and certainly not expensive, is the one I wish to note. An MM Mo Hardwood, a humble 5$ pipe, has been getting a lot of use for smoking extremely well. It's nowhere near the status of my best, but it totally delivers

I have one special pipe that I would never part with. This Grabow Silver Duke was given to me by my grandfather when I was 18.
