Crew, someone had mentioned a while back that the square tins are not good for long term storage. Have you guys been leaving it in the tins? Just curious. I have ordered a sample from SP to see if I like it. I am trying to branch out from my aromatics, and you guys have really piqued my interest with this one. I had two tins from 2012, I am smoking one and leaving the other. The one I'm smoking is fine. The other will get the jar if the top doesn't stay sucked in.

Iโm smoking a tin from 2013, nice and fresh, just the right moisture level, it was sealed perfectly. The square tins seal get compromised fairly easy if dropped or tossed around. If any square tinned tobacco doesnโt have a good seal it should be jarred.

Oh dear! A tobacco with a Guinness type flavour? I'm doomed! Yep. If you like deep strong flavors, but no bite or harshness, ODF is the one. It is tobacco Guiness indeed.

If you enjoy ODF, give Peterson's Irish Flake a go for a nice variant change-up...

That said, I think I might get it for November's tobacco so I'll know soon enough. It's between that, Solani aged burley, or Bob's chocolate flake.

Good to know, guys. I've always had issues with flakes cos I couldn't rub them out well enough and fold and stuff never worked... But now I'm using the coffee grinder, flakes are great.
Solani it is. I'll keep odf for December.

After smoking HH Dark Fired for about ten days in various pipes interspersed with other mixtures, I conclude that this flake is perfect.
Fragrant room note, rich flavor and cool smoking. For me, nothing surpases.

I have the pre rubbed bulk version of this and it's a great smoke, is it worth the price difference to pick up some of the flake? Previous posts are inclining me to guess yes I just bought both a couple weeks ago. I, honestly, don't find a HUGE difference between the two, but the flake I got is a little darker, and maybe a hair richer. That may be just my mind playing tricks on me. I'd venture that you get a tin, and decide for yourself.

I won a tin of Old Dark Fired in a drawing some years ago. It quickly made it's way into my top 3 along with Black Frigate and Luxury Twisted Flake. Good Stuff.
