What's 1000 politicans at the bottom of the ocean? a damn good start. (Some say the same thing could apply to lawyers)! Ed Duncan ,Batavia, NY Many politicians are lawyers... the worst of both worlds!

EVERYONE should go out and vote. Except for those who are voting for candidates I oppose. You can just stay home and have a nice rest with your pajamas and pipe. Whats good about this place is we don't discuss who supports what candidate!!! so either everyone stays at hope in PJs with a pipe or we all get out and vote!

Brewster's millions is a Richard Pryor and John candy film where Richard Pryor's character, Montgomery Brewster, inherits 30 million dollars which he has to spend in 30 days in order to inherit 300 million. But he can't have anything of value at the end of it and nobody can know what he's doing. Part of his plan is to spend it on an ad campaign called 'none of the above'. It's a good film. Thanks. Never saw it. I will check it out.

While it’s certainly a responsibility to vote, we don’t have to get wound up over it. You have my sympathy being exposed to it as part of your vocation, that’d be rough.

I don't want to talk any politics, but guys, whoo, these local elections are draining my life force. I think I've mentioned before that I work for my local newspaper and our local mayor and county sheriff elections are causing me headache. I love the job, but some of these people are nuts. This is the democratic process but sadly in todays world of "... my way or the highway" on each side of the aisle 'fraid it's not going to get any better. JMHO

I vote at my polling place on Election Day. Otherwise the Poll Ladies do not have much to do. So many others vote early now. There they sit all day, eating cookies and drinking coffee, waiting, waiting, waiting.
Yes, the TV ads are tiring. Ditto the robo calls. Too much negative propoganda. Reminds me of the male candidate who accused the lady running against him, "It is well known she is a thesbian". It has gotten worse over the years.

Why bother the elections are pre-determined. They go though the motions to get your money and sympathy. Here sheeple, here sheeple let me lie and mislead you.

Sure, people certainly have the right not to vote. But if that's their choice - to not participate in the democratic process which is the cornerstone of most civilized countries - they have also kind of rescinded their right to complain about politics, politicians, or the decisions they make that affect all of us and often the world. The people in power are there because we put them there - nobody else.

Perhaps time to pause discussion and smoke a bowl...

Whenever I get overwhelmed by modern political drama, I go back to the start of the grand experiment: "When in the Course of human events. . ." Frankly, we've got it easy.

Ed Duncan ,Batavia, NY Many politicians are lawyers... the worst of both worlds! If you are ever in a jam, and you need competent counsel, a good lawyer is worth their weight in gold....I know of a guy that was facing life imprisonment for defending himself with deadly force...his lawyer made all the difference. I understand the humor of poking fun at different professions though, and in the manner said, and can appreciate it when expressed here.
This truck driver goes into a whore house one day and slaps $500 on the counter. Then he says to the madam, "I want the ugliest girl in the place and a ham sandwich."
The madam of the house looks at the big wad of money in front of her and says to him, "You know, for $500 you could have the most beautiful girl in here."
The truck driver looks at her and says, "Listen, I'm not horny, I'm home sick."

Other than voting for your local yokels the rest is big money game. Why would someone spend millions for a job in Washington on the Senate floor or worse to be the President. The corner stone of democracy has been bought and sold for the enjoyment of the puppet masters.

The corner stone of democracy has been bought and sold for the enjoyment of the puppet masters. True, and it's probably been like that since ancient Greece. But there is still always a lesser of two evils in any race. Not a very motivating scenario for sure, but it's all we've got. And some candidates do profess that they want to get big money out of politics, so it that's an issue you care about that's probably a good reason to vote, no?

That’s what I do.....I vote for the lesser of the “ TWO “ evils. Remember what Richard Nixon said....and ill quote...” I’m not a crook “! Yup, I voted for him, he kept his promise and got our troops home from Vietnam. His “ only “ mistake was Watergate and keeping the tapes!! Many politicians have done the same, but they learned from Nixon’s mistake!
