There are plenty of reasons to not like the system pipes. But they smoke so danged good!

Ive never been a fan of any petersons for some reason I've a few that are nice, but I would not lean towards them myself either. There are plenty other pipes I would choose over my Peterson. I'm not even sure why.

I have a dozen Petersons and they all have P-lips. I guess you either love 'em or hate 'em. Nobody seems neutral. I don't clench, I hang. That P-lip is perfect for that. If you're a clencher I don't blame you for not liking them. If you're a hanger you can smoke either P or regular. If you are prone to tongue bite, switch to a P-lip and you can have palate bite!

I clench, hang, and even occasionally lip grip my p-lips, and have no animosity towards them. Same with fishtails.

This topic has had a life of its own! One thing is for sure...Peterson gets a lot of guys attention...love'm or hate'm.
I'm another who connects well with the Pete design. I love the system pipe function, and I love the P lip. With my smoking style, the way the smoke exits the top of the P helps with tongue bite...and I get no bite to the roof of my mouth either.
I will gladly purchase and re-home your P-lip stems!

You know, System Petes are not synonymous with P-lips. some Systems have flat bits. Aside from that, I like both System pipes and those with P-lips. I'm a "hanger" rather than a "clencher."

I'm not a big fan of them, but (IMHO) if you burn the roof of your mouth, it's probable because you're smoking it to fast! They're a great aid in teaching one how to smoke a pipe correctly.
